Prince’s GC is to the north…in fact the building in view behind the 13th green/14th tee is the old clubhouse.
Royal Cinque Ports is just to the southwest of RStG. All have hosted the open! They are private clubs. Very much NOT gated community’s!
I played RStG in 2000 when over for the Open at StA. Unlike the USA, you can get on all of the courses if you (in advance) write letters of introduction, are a member of a club somewhere and have a handicap of 18 or less! We found them all very friendly.
