    Default Debacle at Tweed Heads

    Well surprise surprise.....
A couple of fools were picking up their balls on the 80 yard practise range
at Tweed Heads and almost got hit by other golfers practising.
Of course, this has been happening for many years...
Suddenly, the club, in their infinite wisdom decides that no-one can play more
than a 25 metre chip or pitch on the practise course.
I wonder how many members will be seeking a refund as the facility which they
are paying for in their membership has now been withdrawn.
Of course, if you want to buy a bucket of balls and go to the driving range
next to the 9th, you can do that...wouldnt be about the dollars..would it....
All because some morons were almost hit as they picked up their practise balls....
    What a joke...

The club looked at their insurance policy and decided the risk wasn't worth it. Don't blame them to be honest.

It is a practise course or range?

Its an 80 yard practise course which has been there for years.
It has a large green to play to and bunkers on one side to practise out of.
I suspect that maybe a couple of snowflakes have had a moan...
Probably a couple of 18 year olds...
We all know that most of our young these days wouldnt have half a brain...
Probably picking their practise balls up with their backs to other golfers hitting towards them...
    Nothing to do with insurance...
There are signs everywhere warning of the danger of being hit by a golf ball on the course.
Bear in mind that this facility has been the same for many years.
Perhaps the dottery old fools on the committee need to be replaced with people
    who arent suffering from dementia....
    Nothing changes....

Why are people picking up balls at the very place that other people are targetting from 80m?

It sounds like the members can't share a large green.

Easy fixed. Nominate for the committee, get voted in and reverse the decision.

This club has been going to the dogs for years...
No wonder everyone joins a nearby club instead..(Ocean Shores or Murwillumbah...)

This an outrage. Forget about wasting your time with the committee, just go straight to the top and lodge your grievance with someone who can help:

Can’t you just hit balls on the Pacific Highway? As long as you face the traffic you’ll be ok.

Where’s the range where you collect your own balls at Murwillumbah?

Maybe just layup outside 80 yards or inside 25m, then you won’t need the practice anyway.
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

There's two course to play why bother with a practice area.

We have the same setup at my club, around 70m to a green with 2 flags. If someone is on the green picking up their balls , you don't hit onto the green. Pretty simple.

Remember which side if the border you're on. CTH just misses out.
