Finger joint pain
any of you other old bustards get sore fingers?
all of my fingers hurt in the last joint, when I close or squeeze the fingers and sensitive to slight knocks on the joint.
really bad when wake up in the morning.
left hand worse than right
xrays show mild degenerative features. doctor says to live with it, i am getting old.
I dont think golf has caused this, but fairly sure it doesnt help. the last 3 fingers of the left hand bear most of the impact force when hitting the ball and ground. so get a bit inflamed occassionaly.
had it for years, but getting much worse recent months. kinda bothers me as fingers are useful for doing stuff.

I used to have a form of arthritis, which affected some of my finger joints. Thankfully some great new medicine has all but eliminated it. Getting some Bryson-style oversized grips on all your clubs is supposed to make golf less painful with arthritis, so might help you too?

Yep, have osteo in my hands, which is marvelous for someone who works with his hands. They get pretty sore by the end of the day.
For the rare time I play golf, I have to grip the club like it feels like it's gonna fly out of my hands! Hitting the ball better than I have in a decade!
Saw a hand before Xmas when the last 3 fingers of each hand had gone numb, but at that stage I'd worked every day for 3 months so they were pretty work out. The 4 days off over Xmas and that resolved. But I did get some Imak compression gloves from them, which when I remember, I wear at night.
My mum reckons she's had some luck taking fish oil supplements, but it took a while to kick in. Glucosamine is the other one that's "spose" to help. I have trouble swallowing tablets and those ones are all frickin huge. But maybe worth a go.

I thought the scientific consensus on fish oil and glucosamine supplements, after decades of use in the community, was that they provided a placebo at best.
Which is fine - placebos can help a lot - but don't expect some miracle cure. If you listened to my mum, you could cure every disease on the planet with fish oil and echinacea tablets.

They'd shoot you if you were a horse!
Thanks for the heads up on the fish oil with cholesterol meds, as I'm on those since the strokes.
I have sometimes used a wheat pack heated up and wrapped around my hand/fingers.

Sore fingers respond well to heat. Is there anywhere warm at home you can stick them that would make you feel better?
