$270/club is what i got quoted when recently buying new clubs and that wasn't asking for any good pricing. Just their stock prices.

Dont get me wrong. theyre nice clubs and all, but that pricing is just not what they sell for.

Not sure what clubs you were looking atThe players distance irons are more expensive than the cb range due to the technology and inserts

Why do people comment on someone’s asking price?

If you don’t like the price move on, if they don’t sell that’s on the seller not all the dribblers here commenting.

Because ain't no one payin' over $300/club for a full set of these new.
Also, for someone who has been on Ozgolf near on a decade, you should know by now that the Pro Shop is the wild west when it comes to claims of RRP and club value. List at your peril, otherwise Facebook Marketplace is that way →

I sold a set of irons on here worth twice as much for half as much.

    Two reasons.

Firstly whilst this sub-forum is the busiest on OzGolf, the site is supposed to be a community of golfers that help each other, not a pure classified site.

I doubt any of the canny regulars here would pay over the odds, but I think it is entirely within the site's remit to aid newbies.

Secondly, such price talk helps the OP. He may well have paid $2900 for the P790s (although if he did he should have checked here first) but there is no way he'll get the asking price here or anywhere else. Not when the going price on eBay/FB for 4-PW is under $1K. Very few can hit a strongly lofted 3 iron so that adds no value. And many have specialist wedges so the Gap may well not be needed.

It may sound brutal, but if the OP wants to actually sell his set he needs to be realistic.

Personally, I'd whack them on the FB Golf Sell group for $1300 and be prepared to negotiate down.

Didn't comment on his asking price you ass. i commented on the RRP that was quoted. Nothing to do with how much he was asking to sell for.

Exactly - in my ad I stated “retail for around $2900“.This is true when you consider there is at least 2 extra irons, the players distance irons are more expensive due to the technology and inserts etc and the upgraded gripsOf course my local pro shop gave me some $$ offThanks

Retail price is $309 per club and there are NDMC on there. So at $15 upcharge per iron that is $324 a club. 9 x $324 = $2916

So whilst that is expensive and a savvy shopper could do better. He quoted retail and he was correct.

    Default Mint Taylormade P790 irons

Who’s retail price are you looking, at as I can find retail at $2294 for this set. Retail is wholly relevant to who the retailer is, or are you referring to the TM RRP which is recommended retail not retail.
