Wondering if someone who has some idea (not you Yoss) and isn't gaining out of selling me some irons could give me some insight into the attached TM numbers please.
I had a fitting on the weekend and tried a few different heads. These two were the best. Both 7 iron, both hit with same shaft.
which is better?
dispersion on both was good.
spin on one of these seems a little low i thought.
I'd go with the higher spinning heads given those numbers - assuming you were hitting decent balls. If you were hitting old range balls but play pro v1s, etc you might want to hit those clubs again with better balls. Descent angles are good on both. Depends what you're looking for I guess.
How many shots did you hit with each? Unless you hit a heap of balls, I would hate to make a decision based off those numbers alone, as the observed difference in spin could simply be down to one or two poor strikes without a big enough sample. Now that you have reduced it down to two options it would be ideal to go back and see whether you see the same pattern on a different day. I know that this isn't always possible of course.
And if the same figures emerge, I agree that the spin looks too low on the second one. However, were the lofts comparable? That difference in spin could potentially reflective of a 1-2 degree difference in loft.
