    Default Club Manufacturer delays?

Has anyone experienced any delays in custom orders through any manufacturers?

A mate of mine placed a custom order for a set of Ping G710 irons 4-PW 18/11/20 and still hasn't received them.

I believe srixon is currently 4-6 weeks. Titleist and callaway/odyssey were the same late last year.

Yep, I have. Ordered a custom Srixon product on the 26/12/2020 and still haven't seen it. I'm led to believe Srixon closed @ Xmas till 11th January but still not sure why it's taken this long when I was able to confirm directly with them, that they had all the components before I ordered. Supposed to be seeing it this week but I won't be holding my breath as it's coming from Powergolf and they're online store is.....well let's just say, it aint Golfbox.

I ordered a single Ping iron a few years ago, between Xmas and New Year, and it took about 6 weeks. (Local office closed for a fortnight, and US workshop until late Jan.)

Earlier that year, it was exactly a month from order to delivery for a set to be made in the US.

To be fair, it's not three months, it's just shy of 8 weeks. But I agree, it's too long.

Got the ZX utility to go with my ZX7 irons I bought just before Xmas. Wanted to get the Modus 120 shaft in it to match the set but I'm not sure I won't be trying it with the recoil shaft at some point. 4-LW is all Srixon/Cleveland now and loving it.

It took Acushnet 2 months to get an M grind Sm8 wedge for me last year, I think Rona has taken her toll on supply chains / turn-around time

Yeah I have z585 and I shafted with modus 125 stiff, then bought the zx utility with the neo Nippon and put a modus 125 in that too. Also grabbed the 50 and 54 zipcores, and about to buy a 58

Srixon were about 6 weeks for my hybrid in Nov last year. They apologized and threw in a box of z stars to make up for it.
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

Yeah, nice. Srixon irons have been good the last few years. I think they got the 65 series a bit wrong on shape but 45, 85 and the new ones are spot on. I went CBX2s in the wedges. I'm a shit wedge player so the wide soles and larger profile are awesome!

Wow, that is crap! Coming up on three months is very ordinary.

I've still got my 745's....nothing even comes close to the feel and performance for me.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the CBX2s, I'm also a shit wedge player (mainly from 70-100m).

Back on topic - Mizuno EU just released this statement.
They are aiming for 60 days from order placed.

Golfbox told me they were looking at 6 weeks minimum for any manufacturer at the moment. Major supply issues everywhere.

They are awesome. I've played a lot of wedges and I've got some favourites (loved ping glide forged and I've got some scratch wedges I'd never sell) but for straight up playability, the CBX2s are great. Just keep in mind they do have a wide sole so are not to everyone's liking but for me bounce is forgiveness and I'm not scared of a wide sole or bounce. If you want them though, they might be hard to get, depending on the lofts you want. Srixon/Cleveland are short on stock so whatever is around is all that's available I believe. Stock shaft is fine too and I tend to use heavier stiffer wedge shafts but these are perfectly fine. If you can handle the wide sole and bigger bounce (most people should play more bounce IMO), you can't go wrong with the CBX2 wedges. They look nice too, unlike the Callaway CB wedge for example.

    Ahhhh, well that’s figures.
On another note, my mate the head builder at Ping here has retired and moved up the coast.
Not sure who’s building there these days....

Its the Covid flow on effect on supply chains after China lockdown for a couple of months, then add in that golf retail is going gangbusters and that just compounds it.

Ping for example assembles in USA But the manufacturing is done in china.

I ordered a custom shaft from Callaway yesterday for a customer. All parts for the build are in stock, but their current lead time to assemble is 16-20 days. They are flat out, on top of the procurement issues.
