You can blame a certain Ozgolfer for that - he builds those things that freight companies use to automatically calculate size and weight, as well as the whole internal transport aystems in warehouses. Smart bloke.

Good afternoon folks. There is a long & a short version to this story but the short version is i need a friend in the US to ship a single club (a putter) to me on the Gold Coast. He says he is being quoted US$300+ by Fedex or UPS. Thats as much as the putter is worth!

I am sure lots of you folks who change clubs more than me know the best & cheapest way to ship a single club from there to here?

Thanks for your suggestions & guidance!

USPS (US Postal Service) won't cost anywhere near that, although it will be slower than a courier service.

Just a quick FYI - just organised a set of irons from Brisbane to Adelaide and it was $35 via Star Track through my business account.

If anyone is truly stuck for options I can assist, ideally picking up and dropping off to business addresses

    Just send me a PM

In my experience the limit is 105cm at AusPost offices, I used an LPO near me who took 120cm but last time I tried they would only accept up to 110cm.

I'm in Sydney so there may be different outcomes elsewhere.

You can get clubs from one end of Australia to the other for around $20 with Sendle. Why use anything else?

Your wedges/putters are helicoptered from one side of Australia to the other mostly, aren't they?

    Non-golf shipping query.

I'm possibly sending a bike from Hobart to Adelaide.
Current quote through e-go is $199 and waiting on Pack Send. Has anyone else sent a bike or similar and have any reccomendations?

E-go maybe the best for irregular and large items.

    ...

FYI, Qantas freight has been in chaos since weekend of 24 Sept. Rumour is system crash. I normally have stuff arrive from USA, arrives in Melbourne Sundays and deliverd to my door Monday, now i get it Friday, this week, maybe i will get it.

My courier reports he usually is in/out of qantas freight in 15 mins for a pickup, now its 2 hours and vans lined up down the street. Staff dont know what to do, but doing there best, and management has gone into hiding.

Domestically this is impacting couriers all over, auspost, star track, fedex/tnt and probably others that use qantas. Couriers Please is road only, so they be ok, maybe also Aramax.

    I'm still using Interparcel.
Was using Startrack a lot, but their service has gone well downhill.

TNT on the other hand has been brilliant.

    Interparcel works for my location.
Normally gives me a few options.
    TNT Express, Startrack, Allied Express.

Auspost has cracked right down. Normally I'd be able to talk my way out of being 1cm too long.

    Not anymore.

I had to return an ebay item, seller sent me the return label, going from Brisbane to a PO Box on the Goldcoast, I dropped it at the post office on the 29th of Nov and they still don't have it. I would say approx 40% of deliveries I get from Auspost/Startrack have some sort of issue, they are just useless.
