    Default Mobile Plans...

Thinking of switching my mobile service provider and just wondering if anyone had experience with ALDI mobile? They seem to have the best deal at the moment with their family plan.

ALDI mobile use the Telstra network. My question is more about the ease of transferring over your number and after sales service....I probably should have been more specific.

We're all with Belong mobile. Can't speak about their after sales service as we haven't had to use it, but they also use Telstra 4g I think. All been good so far. Unused data is automatically banked with no expiration, and can share it to other Belong mobile customers. So we're all on $10/month plans which include unlimited national calls and text and 1g data. Then every now and then I'll switch up to the $40 plan for a month or two, pickup 40 or 80 gig data, flip back to the $10 plan, and share the data to the kids as needed. Belong Mobile is a subsidiary of Telstra.

Good coverage then. Can't say about the ease of transfer and after sales service.
My question would be how easy it is to get out if there is an issue with them?

What are you looking to gain from switching?

    - Cheaper plans?
    - More data?
    - Better coverage?

You're right, they don't seem to let the $10 plan on there. I know we're all still on it as I reverted my plan from the 40 to $10 plan this month after a data top up.

Cheaper plans... I'm with Telstra and they're are impossible to get on the phone these days so not worth playing what I'm paying with them on the business plans

Looks like 15pm offer expired yesterday

Boost is cheaper than Telstra prepaid, and Boost is owned by Telstra. I have been paying $150pa recharges for a couple years or so

That's just the way everything is going nowadays. Both Telstra and Optus have 'chat room' style support.
Another option is to try there sales team and tell them you accidently clicked the wrong number and could they transfer you to someone in tech support.

Anyway, as far as cheaper plans - a lot have already been mentioned. I'd stick with the Telstra network.
You've got ALDImobile, Belong, Boost & Woolworths.

Another option, would be JB Hifi in-store telstra plans. You can get cheaper plans and also if you opt for their larger plans - you can get $300+ gift cards or flagship devices for a fraction of the price of RRP.

Not sure if they have fixed this loophole on getting hold of Telstra quickly:
When the automated voice asks you to say what service you want, push 0
It will ask you to repeat as it doesn't understand, push 0 again
I think you need to do it 3 times. After that it should put you at the front of the queue.

Was told this by a Telstra Store Owner.

It may or may not influence your decision, but will the resellers (Aldi/ Belong etc.) offer access to 5G at the same pricepoint?

    They don't but I won't be getting a 5g phone a few years so it doesn't matter

I have an ALDI plan and I can’t fault them. Porting my number across was painless.
I have the $25 prepaid plan that I have on automatic top up.
I manage everything through their app.

I think I’m on the same Boost plan too. 80gb of data that has a 12mth expiry. I haven’t had any issues with them.

On aldi family plan, it is perfect for us with 4 phones. Best phone decision ever. Porting was simple. Automatic top up is great. They bank unused data (as long as you are on auto top up).

I've been with Vodafone for years with no dramas, coverage around Brisbane has been good for me. My wife and I are on the same account sharing 35gb of data per month but I'm thinking about shifting her onto a cheaper prepaid option because she uses very little data

I would consider leaving Telstra, but my plan is 40ish gig a month, which I then share to the kids when we go away so they don't burn their tiny monthly download limits. Their Optus networked SIMs don't work on the country roads to the inlaws either.

The other benefit of Telstra is things like unlimited and unmetered AFL and NRL content

I'm with Vodafone through work and I have never had a problem.
As Gary said, service around Brisbane and surrounds is fine and have never had a problem anywhere else including the USA.
