When i use mine for golf I typically recharge it. Not using GPS it lasts a couple of days I think, not needing charging enough for it to be an issue. You might get 2 rounds of golf from a full charge. The recharge is quick, compared to phones or my old Samsung Gear.

I've had mine for 2 years now, and battery is still really good. I would charge mine a few times a week, but I've been tracking 1 to 3 hours of activities a day. Golf features are pretty good, though I've rarely used them as I barely play. Obviously gives you distance to getting, centre, back of been. But you can also move the flag position on the greens and it gives you distances to various obstacles on each hole. You can record scores and basic stats per hole (fairways, putts). And I didn't realise this, but I discovered after my last game of you download the Garmin golf app and look at your found there, if the watch picks up your shots it'll show your round on the course. It missed some chip shots of mine, so sometimes it thought id made the green.
I like the all day hr tracking and the sleep tracking. Charging seems to take about an hour tops, and if you plugged it in every shower it would keep running pretty long. Smart features are less than what you get on am apple or Google watch, but I find the level of features are just enough without being too much. I don't really need another phone strapped to my wrist. If you use an Android phone you can also setup some canned responses to messages (apple won't permit this). It's amazing how many text messages you can reply to with about 4 different emojis and ,say, 3 written responses. And it's not a hulking big watch like some smartwatches.
