Quality choke from Thompson this morning. 5 shots up halfway through the last round, but doesn't even make the playoff.
Her par putts on 17 & 18 were woeful especially 18 where she didn't even get it to the hole.
Great to see the cheating moll take the gas!
Rich Lerner said she had "wilted on the back 9" (or something similar) and was forced to correct himself and changed that to buckled.
I'm sure he was thinking choked.
I've just finished watching the full replay. You'd think the player used to the spotlight and with tons of experience would be able to handle the pressure, but she didn't.
It wasn't even bad luck, just bad play. I'm always impressed though, by players claiming they hit a well-struck shot when the ball comes up well short. She did it on 17 and 18. She hits those 2 greens, and she wins.
Great event though. More and more, I'm thinking women's golf on great and challenging courses is better to watch than men's golf on the same type of courses.
Reigning SA Champs Long Drive holder. The highlight of my career.
She’s ranked 76th in the 2021 putting stats with an average of 30.39 putts per round so it’s not a surprise he struggled under the pressure.
She doesn’t look comfortable over the ball compared to great putters like Stricker and Faxon.
Not like the top 10 female tennis players who dominate at the Slams.
