The PGA wouldn't want to be associated with a convicted criminal. This allows them to escape before it's too late, blaming sponsors pulling out.

I notice the dreamers on Twitter have got Royal Melbourne trending as an alternative destination for the 2022 PGA.

It's never going to happen, even if covid is no longer a problem by 2022.

Firstly, its the "US" PGA tournament, so its always going to be administered by the USPGA, not the R&A or some other golf body. At this point, US club pro's can qualify and play. There is no way they'll ask those guys to travel out of the USA.

Secondly, the schedule simply does not allow the entire PGA Tour to up stumps and travel for 18 hours during the season. That can only be done right at the start, as in Hawaii, or perhaps right at the end, as in the Asian Swing. So, it's not going to happen.

Its fun to speculate on fantasy locations like Bandon Dunes, but realistically, it will be a standard location, probably somewhere that has hosted a major before.

To be fair to the "dreamers" the Royal Melbourne for 2022, started with the a golf blogger asking the question (1) realistic option and (b) dream choice.

I did note prominent Trumper and world 500 something ranked pro Grayson Murray calling for the Donald to run a big money tournament at Bedminster the same week as the PGA. Presumably he will be able to get Jack (formerly Mr Nicklaus) and the Shark to be honourary starters.

I've played at Bedminster, its just long and dull. Trump is on a lot of the honour boards, seems like he creates a new category as he gets older, there was Snr Champ. Super Senior, Veteran and one other. Up the last I hit a horrible flared cut that whacked into his clubhouse, so proud of that, can hardly remember another hole

    Mick,

You can probably add Annika and Gary Player to the list of starters seeing they accepted their Presidential Medals of Freedom from Trump last week.

The R&A haven't had Turnberry on the Open Rota since he bought it in 2014 and have already selected the sites up to 2024.

Don is having a bad run.

Lost the house, lost the senate, lost the presidency, his coup failed, then worst of all for him also lost his Twitter account and lost the PGA (he was never going to get the Open).

He has about $500mil in personally guaranteed debt coming due in the next few months, so the PGA should’ve just waited as it’ll be called Deutsche Bank National Bedminster by 2022. He also loses his immunity from prosecution in a fortnight and is days away from getting impeached again.

    Hate to see it......
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

I know. The R&A made a press release saying so yesterday. Think about it, why would they? Other than because of the medieval mob of cancel culture roaming the streets looking for someone to burn.

There are no victims of cancel culture. It’s just people being held to account for their actions, often long overdue. It’s a great system.

Evidently he’s gutted that the PGA is being moved as that would have been the first time one of his courses has held a men’s major since he owned it.

He denied asking the UK ambassador in mid 2020 to get the Open Championship to Turnberry.
