Would you of broken 100 today bushy?
Would you of broken 100 today bushy?
I reckon I would’ve put at least 3 in the creek on 12 -2 from the tee and one from the back bunker
It reminds me of Greg Norman answering a question re masters course playability.
He basically said that your scratch marker at the local clubs in Australia would not break 100.
Well today you had top20 golfers in the world putt balls into the water from greens. Shane Lowry chipped one in the piss on 15 and he landed maybe 6-10” from the desired landing spot.
Let’s look at the leaderboard. Cull the bottom 5-6 spuds. Look at T60-T80. Some of the best players in the world, locks for Hall of Fame- complete spuds.
It will be a stella missed cut group.
I’d be pretty pissed off if they watered the greens too much tonight.
I'd probably raise the bat in these conditions. I've played it on the simulator a few times, it's so long from the back tees you're hitting 5-7 irons in on most of the par 4s (if you're not in the trees), and you're not stopping the ball on greens like they were today with those clubs. That said, the par 5s (2, 13 and 15 at least) are somewhat gettable with good drives, but again chipping & putting is going to be hell for the average club golfer like me.
Will be interesting to see if the greens soften at all with the rain that is forecast.
2over after Seven 9under for last 12 holes. Fair average Golf by Rose.
I tend to agree. Surely a low handicapper could plot their way around and make mostly bogies with the odd double (and maybe a par or 2). 100 is 28 over, that's 10 doubles and 8 bogies. It might mean deliberately not going for greens in regulation but at Augusta there's almost always a spot to layup that will make it relatively easy to make bogey if that's your goal. That'd have to have reasonable speed control on their putts though.
Bwahahahahahahaha, love it!
I've only just seen Si Wo Kim putting with his 3 wood. Love it.

Will Zalatoris all the way?
I would agree with that, there is no such thing as a bad lie as long as you stay inside the tree lines.
In 2018 when we were there I struggled to find a single bare patch in the rough where we were walking and the grass is certainly not too thick that you can't get out.
Royal Melbourne off the back pegs, and quick greens is more penal than Augusta althougfh Augusta would be longer.
