    Default 2021 PGA Tour

The pedantic part of me almost exploded with rage when I saw there were 2021 posts in the 2020 PGA tour thread. Then when I read the post, it didn't relate to 2021, so I had to withhold my accusation that the posters needed a new calendar.

So, here is the 2021 thread.

So far though, I've got nothing to say. For me, the Tournament of Champions is one of the least interesting events all year, on maybe the least interesting course. But at least in 2021 we have the possibility of having the TOC won by someone who wasn't a champion, due to the strange circumstance of all the top 30 being invited, even if they didn't win an event.

That's a very long post for someone who has nothing to say. Can't wait til you do

I reckon the course they are playing is an interesting risk vs reward layout and even better when the wind gets up!!

Adam Scott using an armlock putter, has he done so before?

For sure. He's had a great front 9, hopefully he can keep it going. We all know Finau will choke.

    It’s not a choke, it’s a curse.

Going to be weird watching Jason Day putt without a spider tomorrow. I hope he can get his body right and start winning again.

You had to be quick to see it. All I saw was a short putt on 16 and an up and down 5 footer on 18 in the first round. No coverage of Jason at all today. Considering he was in a group with Rahm and Leishman, it was hard to avoid the cameras altogether, but he did it.

I did see a fair bit of Adam Scott though. Now his hair is going grey its good to know there is something about him that is not perfect (except for his putting, I suppose).

The other odd thing was that we kept seeing that the cut line was -1, which suggests there was some good golf going on, but we didn't see it. The feature groups struggled both days.

If this is a preview of the US Open it'll be a yawn, and a whingefest, with narrow fairways, deep rough and lots of scrambling. Some people claim they want to see that style of golf. I wonder about that.

Yeah the coverage hasn't been great. I have had small kids distracting me at times, but there's a lot of crap shown.

Yep. I reckon the rest of the field say we aren't playing unless he is DQed or withdraws. That was worse than the others. Who else removes their ball from the questionable (2nd bounce plug WTF) before the official or marker is present. Even worse than his other cheating. The pros should turn on him. 3 times at least now

Shot tracer footage is damning. Allegedly refused to review footage when offered before taking his relief.

    The article is misleading.

“He can then be heard telling the official, not once but twice, that his ball hadn't bounced.” Is incorrect.

He actually told the official “They said it didn’t bounce”

As for the video, the USGA and R&A said in 2017

    (1) the “naked eye” standard (if video shows the existence of a breach of the Rules based on facts the player was not aware of at the time and that could not reasonably have been seen with the naked eye, there will be no penalty), and (2) the “reasonable judgment” standard (if a player does all that can reasonably be expected in making a determination about a spot, area, point, line, distance or other location in applying the Rules, the player’s reasonable judgment will be upheld even if later shown to be wrong by video evidence or other information.)

He’s also allowed to lift his ball to check if it might be embedded.

Other than arguing he and the volunteer closest to the landing spot are lying about seeing it bounce, I can’t see he didn’t anything wrong.
