In further shocking news, Mitch Marsh is injured again. Never saw that coming.
Better keeper is fairly subjective though, who gets to decide whats fair?
Such matters should be left to be dealt with off the field, if a team was abusing the substitute ruke the ICC can police that later.
If Australia want to take 20 wickets, then Mitch Swepson needs to play. So do they drop Lyon or a paceman?
Gee whiz. Big difference bowling to Australian spin spuds and India. You love a qldr
Drop Starc, look tired and disinterested, use Green as the third seamer.

Starc looked frustrated to me which can come across as tired and disinterested. Couldn't find his line and length and couldn't send down two balls in row on the same spot. He was all over the place.
Giving Green more of the bowling duties would be a gamble. He's still looking to take his first test wicket isn't he?
Burns can bowl off spin.

Getting tired of stuff like that being the news headlines. More than happy to hear opinions from the experienced players in the game, they have a lot of wisdom to share but when "Gavaskar says ..." that is *not* the news. The news is "Paine calls Ashwin a nob". Cricket is becoming a tabloid.
Sunil seems to be going the same way as poor old Neil Harvey - the journos know that he will provide a snarky comment with appropriate prompting.
I actually felt Harvey was quite badly treated by the media later in life, as they used him whenever they wanted someone to bag out the current players. It wasn't like he was holding press conferences at age 85 - the only reason he was commenting was because crap journos knew they could wind him up into making a negative comment that would play well as a 'headline'.

Just watching Langer defend Steve Smiths accusation of cheating when he rubbed out the batsmans marks in the crease.
Well Langer actually didnt defend, he just handwaved. So what actually was Steve Smith doing, checking for fire ants?
Fielders shouldn't be mucking about with the batting crease, wether they're up to no good or not
"Golf makes different creatures of us all, some worse, some better, but all enthusiastic" Evening Journal, 1897.
now i just saw Nathan Lyon say that Smith and himself does that 'every test he has ever played' and thats its harmless or words to that effect
but just like Langer before him, didnt actually say what Smith was doing.
Pucovski out with a bad shoulder, Harris in.
Sounds like the same team otherwise - I'd have considered giving Neser a run instead of Starc on his home pitch - Starc looked pretty flat towards the end of the last test, and hasn't been bowling that well either.
Happy enough with that change - while Harris still looks incredibly loose outside the off-stump, at least it gives Australia two genuine openers for the first time in the series. It also opens the door for Pucovski to come back into the middle order (where I think he is better suited) in place of Wade.
Not sure he's good enough but Harris has a huge opportunity here. India are without all three of their front line pace bowlers and if Harris could knock up a big score he could well leapfrog a bunch of guys and make for some serious traffic at #5.

Well if we can't beat the boys (barring rain or some sort of amazing individual effort) at home at The Gabba with their top 3 pace bowlers out among various other injury concerns and Kohli gone home they are just miles better than us. Should be a cracking game regardless with everything at stake.

Agree with TNO's assessment - India's bowling has been hit badly by injuries, and their entire attack is gone (Ashwin as well). If we lose this (India's batting still looks fairly solid, so a draw is on the cards if the track is flat), heads other than Travis' should roll.
