Sigh
Sigh
When are we allowed to question Warner’s spot? He doesn’t score many away from home, hasn’t scored any at home this year and seems to be allowed to “influence” who his opening partner will be? And he is a di@k
Should have kept burns in and told him it was a T20
Why bother with specialist openers at all? Just open with Smith and Labuschagne. They are constantly facing the new ball anyway.
Warners last eleven test scores are 154/335*/43/19/41/38/45/111*/5/13/1. 800+ runs at about 90 odd.

Well the selectors took the easy way out and played an injured player , Warner should never have been picked for Sydney let alone this one , as much as I dislike the man he picks himself until someone puts runs pressure on him
Of course Kahwaja is sitting around doing nothing and could quite easily have opened for these 2 tests and the selectors could have dropped him again at the end of the series
Australia is not long away from a changing of the guard in the batting lineup it will start when Paine goes and it will be interesting to see what happens there are only 2 batsman that pick themselves at the moment
Sad that Wade clearly hasn’t worked out how to play solely as a batsman. He still has the mental approach of a wicket-keeper, and just throws it away too easily and at the wrong time. Hope that Pucovski is available again by the time of the next Test, as a middle order of Marnus, Smith, Will and Green looks seriously solid. Just need to find two openers in form ...
Justin Langer should be absolutely ripping the batsmen a new one - none of them could even remotely pretend they got out to a good ball. They all threw their wickets away, showing a total lack of respect for both the opposition and the match situation. I do have some sympathy for Burns, who did certainly get a few good balls (but you should expect that as an opener), but today was different.
We simply do not deserve to win this series, and if our bowlers pull it out of the flames, it will only cover up the cracks that are now yawning. With all due respect to Siraj, who looks a genuinely good find, the remainder of the Indian attack looks to be little better than an average state bowling lineup. If you can’t score well against that, you shouldn’t be there.
Edit: Perhaps I was a bit harsh on Warner - it wasn't a terrible shot, but he still could have left it alone that early in the innings. The rest of them though - bah.

With all said and done i'd much rather be in our position than theirs tho we were aided by a couple of dropped catches.

True enough - solid last hour by Green and Paine improved things a lot from 5-215 ish. If either of them had fallen early and exposed the tail to the new ball, we could have been struggling to make 250.
What's happened to Pat Cummins' batting ?
Great tail end work from Garry, Starc and Hazelwood.
Washed out Test days since 1877:
Perth 0
Hobart 2
Adelaide 2
MCG 6 (not including 1971 washout => ODI)
Brisbane 8
Sydney 25
Move the Gabba test back to November, or early December too.
Tests at the Gabba after Christmas1933 v ENG (Feb 10th start date)
1968 v IND (Jan 19th)
2019 v SL (Jan 24th)
2021 v IND (Jan 15th)
Give Annastacia and her Queenslanders all the SOO's and take the tests away.....everyone happy
Maybe give perth a go. Covid free for 93.
The Aussies have dug a hole for themselves, by taking too long to get India out, and now losing a clump of wickets this morning. Instead of trying to get into a position to win, they are trying to make enough to not lose. That said, apparently the highest run chase by a visiting side is 170, which they have passed.
Highest successful chase is 170 odd
Pakistan made 450 chasing a few years ago.
Right. I do remember that. Stats can hide things like that.

What an embarrassing lack of skills that Australia has shown. Full credit to what was being called a below average indian team to come out and show up our awesome can't lose Australian side.
