Moises Henriques is a limited talent spud whose last 6 Test knocks are:

    5,0,0,2,4,4.

He has a Test bowling average of 82. He makes Mitch Marsh look like Gary Sobers.

But of course he is from NSW so he is almost a certainty to play.

Certainly gives them a leg up!!!

He did get 68 and 81* prior to that which is 7 years ago now and also banged out two hundreds in recent Shield. Having said that he only averages 35 in first class but this is the standard we mostly deal with nowadays.

Anyone stand out to you Jack or leave as is barring injury return?

I'd jump on that too if not for Will's current "situation". I'm just not sure they will gamble with where he's at. Langer has dumped guys before and i look forward to seeing what they do or don't do.

With a history of getting hit on head you think he's a massive risk as any fast bowler worth his spot in the side will be whizzing them around the ears all test.
When does, dare I say it "Duty of Care in the Workplace" come into his employer exposing him to that.

Gotta look at whether he is ever going to make it if he can't work out a way to deal with fast bowling. Sink or swim time no matter how talented someone is

Absolutely. It's spliced with not only getting hit but how badly affected he is each time. Like some NRL players. A guy like Keary was sailing close to the edge and now we have Cordner on a bit of a precipice.

If Bumrah isn't the best bowler in the world he's certainly vying for it. Tho not blisteringly fast he has a superb bouncer. Tho both are now injured his back up is super too. It puts great pressure on a guy struggling like Burns, a makeshift opener like Wade and a new guy coming in like Will which is compounded greatly by the head drama's.

His career might never catch fire at the top level. He's probably got the talent but will other factors allow him to flourish? We can only hope so.

My son is convinced that Langer won’t drop Burns as Warner likes opening with him and Head won’t get dropped as he’s the Captain of SA.

Yes there is the Warner/Burns bromance to consider, but surely form has called time on him for now. I fear you are correct about Head though. Warne talks about him as a future Australian captain. If i'm picking the side, he isn't even on the team sheet tbh

Warne also said to drop him back to Shield.

Burns gawn. Surley no one can be upset with this aside from bits.

Burns didn't deserve to be dropped on test form. He played 6 tests in 2019 and averaged 45.

He played 3 tests this year , averaging 25. Obviously he's not in the best form of his career, but he's been dropped because of shield form and social media.

Trevor Hohns was a joke of a leg spinner and an even bigger clown as a selector.

2019 was a long time ago. Take out the 50 in junk time at the end of a test that was already won and he’s averaging 6.16 for the other 12 first class/test innings this year. Even including the fifty he’s averaging under 10. He’s cooked.

Bumrahs short ball bothers absolutely everyone, so I think Pucovski is a big risk given his history, but everyone else is struggling. At least if he gets pinged they can concussion sub.

    OK - I'll bite

Go back to 1990 (thirty years seems a reasonable timeframe, but feel free to go back further if you wish), look at the list of players who have debuted for Australia from Mark Waugh (no. 349) through to Cameron Green (no. 459). How many players from NSW got an undeserved call-up? Compared to those from other states (and I'll start with my personal favourites of Xavier Doherty and Michael Beer ...)

Burns is our 5th highest runscorers this series, has outscored Smith by 7x ( who is last)

Neither burns or smith had succeeded this series. Smith has about a billion credits. Burns does not.

Kane Williamson two double tons, a ton and a 57* in his last six Test innings since December 3. 760 odd runs at an average in excess of 120. Definite purple patch even if not against the greatest bowling in the world. He's got tons against basically everyone everywhere on his slab.

This sounds odd, but the things I like most about Williamson is how late he plays it (right under his eyes) and how soft his hands are when he plays defensively. Doesn’t necessarily look graceful, but technically very cool to watch.
