It was quite remarkable, particularly in the heat of an ELE cup battle and putting up with the distractions of Ferrins’ tales and me wiping 6 of the first 7...

6 over with the triple on the last.

I loaded up the bag on Sunday and kept them all in for today. 10 clubs.

    Usually that’d cost you $700

All these years I have got it wrong.

You’re right as there was no decent impact mark noticeable on the lip.

    24/12/2020, Glenview Par 3, Social.

    Stats: 1/9 greens, 12 putts.
    Score: BPBPPPPbB; 29 (+2).

I got called into work on Wednesday, so no golf at all unfortunately. Yesterday, I played Glenview Par 3 with my son for the first time. The score was good, but I'm not sure how to rate the round, when I only hit one green, albeit small targets. The putter just kept rolling them in though. I went with an aggressive tee shot on the last searching for another birdie and even par overall, but I missed the green left by less than a metre, and took bogey instead.

Next round: Maleny on Saturday with 3pp.

An atrocious 24 points at Stirling today. Couldn't do much right. Putting was the worst but I also struggled off the tee. Lots of 3 putts. I played with a reduced bag but that didn't make any difference. If anything I should have dropped the putter too.

26/12/2020, Maleny GC, White Tee Stableford.

    Stats: 6/12 fairways, 7/18 greens, 32 putts.
    Score: PXBXBBXXB bbbPPPBBB; 48:34:82 (+14:E:+14); 10:22:32pts.

This new Big Bash style substitution rule in golf is great. If you don't like how you are going after nine holes, you can swap in another golfer for the next nine. I used this strategy to great effect today, by substituting in a guy that could actually play golf, that is, hit towards targets, not chunk chips out of the rough, and definitely not shank, like the guy that played the front nine.

A three birdie run is my equal best ever, and I left the birdie putt on the fourth hole just short of the heart. It would have been great to have the back nine under par overall, but I just couldn't find a par in those last three with the greens hard to land on, and hard to putt on, once you are on.

Next round: Tomorrow at Maroochy River.

The last two greens have some slope to them.

Pin high on 8, but above the hole; I don't know if it was possible to hit it soft enough.

I hit what I thought was a great chip from the back on nine, and watched it go off the other side of the green.

Watching the group in front play the first green before we hit off was scary.

27/12/2020, Maroochy River GC, White Tee Stableford.

    Stats: 6/14 fairways, 8/18 greens, 32 putts.
    Score: BBBPPBBPB BPPPBPPPB; 42:39:81 (+6:+3:+9); 17:19:36pts.

Boring scoring compared to yesterday's variance, but I'll take just bogeys and pars any day, especially when some of those boges are good saves.

That should be another flag and handicap drop.

Next round: Tuesday at Wolston Park.
