Should see my handicap drop below 6.0 for the first time.
    Nice work BYU.

14/11/2020, Rosewood GC, Rosewood Open, Stroke.

    Stats: 9/14 fairways, 2/18 greens, 30 putts.
    Score: XPBXBPXBB PBBPBBBBB; 47:43:90 (+11:+7:+18).

This is not the game I want to take to South Australia. I just can't hit greens, and often it is not even close, even though I am hitting enough fairways. Big cuts seem to have crept in with the irons, yet I hit them fine off the tee on par 3s. I won't rate the short game from today, as the greens were hail damaged and were the slowest (longest) I've ever played on in a comp, which I never got used to.

It's a bit demoralising, as much as I try to just enjoy playing.

Next round: Wolston Park next Sunday maybe, but I need to at least go to the range during the week.

Fairway stats are decent Andy. If you keep giving yourself open shots to the green that's a good start.

Part of what is making it so frustrating, Flavzz. It seems so wasteful, when the driver is meant to be the hardest club to hit. Although, if I do miss with the driver now, it is a bigger miss than what it used to be, so more trouble (or lost). Hopefully my iron shots click first rather than the driver going cold.

I bet mate. Golf tends to be like that. Fairways hit just make the game that much easier. I'm sure it will all click soon. Probably in SA!

Royal North Haven in my all time favourite comp Par........ NOT.
Hit the 910 D2 well again and was in good position on most holes and that’s where it ended sadly.
A disappointing 4down on the front and an equally disappointing 3down on the back for -7.
Can’t hit a green, can’t chip it to inside 6 foot and couldn’t hole a putt lipping out 5 times.

Whilst my driving was still a little off today my irons were decent and consistent enough to still manage a half decent score.

Ended up with 84 off the stick for 40 points (off 16) at Thaxted. 41 front 43 Back.

    Stats
    7/14 effective fairways
    5/18 Greens

Also played at Thaxted today (first time for me) but didn't score as well as Favzz. Nice layout though, in good condition.

    PBPBPPBPP-PBBbBbPBX

Back 9 wasn't great, saved by a couple of birdies. I'm making a habit of playing the last few holes poorly - I just had a look and if you take my last two holes in each of my last 4 rounds, I've played 8 holes 12 over par! Need to stamp that out.

7/14 fairways, 11/18 greens, just didn't convert the birdie putts, and didn't get up and down much when I missed the green.

    Olinda MM yesterday.Played ok,nothing stood out.Hit driver ok,putted ok,chipped ok,irons are going well.
    No birdies
    No doubles
    80-72
    30 putts
Lack of confidence has led to a lack of aggression.I am playing very conservative, was nice to put a decent score on the board.

40 points at Mt Warren Park today with the social club off 24 with one wipe after I shanked three balls in a row into the water on the 4th. Only hole I shanked anything which was weird. Only 16 points on that 9 but I hit +6 on the back for 24 points. Also picked up a NTP on the 9th, and a lone birdie on the par 5 11th after hitting the green in 2. 9/13 fairways (6/7 on the back), only 3 greens. 29 putts but only 17 holes for them. 13 putts on the back with 5 1putts was pleasing. Apart from that wiped hole I wasn't too disappointed with how I played. Need to get better coordination and consistency with my irons though. Planning to have some lessons during my holidays over Xmas and January.

Even if play another round to drop the existing flag I don’t think it will effect things by much so currently it’s 10.5
I really shouldn’t play as I now strongly suspect I fractured stink finger on my left hand at work 3 weeks ago when I stubbed and dropped something on it at the same time. It’s been a little swollen and is tender to bend and have no grip strength in it still. I stubbed it again today at home and it hurt like hell so need to rest it up. It won’t stop me playing champs no matter what.

So I hadn't played for a month with a bad back, been exercising, stretching and had a few visits to the chiro, to try and get the pain down.

Back x-rays revealed a major problem with the hip, so possible surgery coming up there.

Anyway bunted it around yesterday for 37 points off 1. Wasn't pretty but was nice to watch my son have 6 birdies on his way to 39 points.

Good one, Ash. Hope the surgery doesn't keep you off the course for too long if you do have to go down that path.

I didn't bother posting a Monday round, as I had hoped to be posting in the Tractor Farming Thread, where the readers might actually care about my poor golf. Now that the SA Champs isn't occurring, nobody is worried about the potential effect on my handicap, so it is back to reality.

The reality is bad golf. Monday = 29 points, with 5 3-putts. A change of putting stroke for Wednesday meant a total of 30 points. Better putting, but bunker yips. 4 bunkers, 2 hitlers, zero saves.

Our greens get renovated next week, so I can see my short game woes continuing for a while.
"There are 50 things to remember in the golf swing. Trouble is that I can only remember 49 of them" - Bob Hope.
