Default Is their any golf watch that...

Howdy all - great news for all the Victorians out there - golf courses to reopen tomorrow woooooooooo !

Anyway is anybody familiar with any golf watch that can act as a fitness watch as well - ie be able to track steps, and gps your distance and time without being on the golf course ?

I remembered seeing a Garmin's watch that has all the fitness features plus golf as well but that was about 2-3 years ago.

I have a Garmin Fenix that does all of that.

    For golf it has:
    • Basic stats entry including score for the course
    • GPS information
    • Odometer
    • HR monitor
    You also use it for
    • running, cycling, swimming, hiking, rowing, etc.
    • Smartphone notifications
    • Music playing to bluetooth
    • Apple and Google Pay
    And telling the time.

Mega: I have a vivo active 3. All the stats stuff for exercise is really impressive. Works with the golf app. no problem.

Only tip I can give you is to switch off the scoring as it will not auto move to the next hole until you enter something in. Plus its hard to touch the screen (and have it respond) with a glove on so its best to completely disable and just use for distance.

I was really surprised just how much of a workout I get playing golf compared to running. Quite an eye opener

Yep, I have a Fenix 5 so no music. Bought it as a fitness watch as I could never get used to wearing a watch playing golf but in the last 6-7 rounds I have used to for golf too. Does all that is required in both areas.

Many Garmin watches cover this, and the Apple Watch also does a surprisingly good job if you use that platform.

I had Garmin vivoactive 3 (December 2015) and it was good.

I have had an apple watch v 4 for over two years now, and love it.
I use Hole19 for golf. Have used others, and like apple watch. You fire it up via an iphone first.
It does everything for me - running (use NIKE run), cycling (just use the workout app, it records what I do) and the heart rate monitor from the watc works better for me than a typical strap-based monitor.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned any of the Garmin watches

The type of fitness activities you want to do may affect which one would be best for you? General everyday fitness tracking and sports tracking the Vivoactive 3 or 4 will do fine. If you are interested in triathlon or other multisport or adventure events then you're probably looking more at the Fenix range. Or if you need to track a very long activity, like ultra running events etc.

Apparently there is a watch that can tell you how many hours you've slept.

The Wife's Fit Bit does that, even tell you the supposed quality of the sleep (restlessness vs deep sleep).

I want one that measures the tension variance in my right hand during a stroke.
