not this weekend, no. I know it’s renowned as one of the worst “Proper” courses in oz.

The quality is reflected in Robert Allenby asking for his co-designer designation to be removed.

In reality its a nice setting but the course is quite perplexing, as i remember it. Forced, short layups off tees followed by much longer second shots. Tooo many doglegs where the fairways camber in the "wrong" direction. The conditions when i visited (10 years ago?) were also very poor....but that could be different now i guess.

Now that the expectations are set, are you still playing it, Toxic?

Ballarat GC is also a better option; a reasonable Peter Thompson course. Ive never played Trentham but the photos look pretty impressive for a country track.

I played it last year and it had rained a fair bit before hand but I found it interesting, lots of different looks, greens were ok. Not sure of the fees but if it's play or not play, certainly get after it.

Trentham is a great track. A couple of back nine par 4’s are up there in my list of favourite holes! A tight dogleg right par 4 with a skyline green and a long dogleg left with a hazard in the right!

Forget Creswick. There was a review about it on another forum which was one of the funniest reads in golf! One photo showed a 6’ long tee on a par 4 Demanding a wood.......with 4’ high grass in front of the tee! It was like a bad dream that golfers get!

    the collective.
Eye is singular (as you quoted) - very appropriate.

'Just close one eye ........', so said the designer of Creswick

I actually liked the layout, used basically every club in the bag.Lots of positional tee shots required Greens a tad furry as they'd had buckets of rain this week.Trentham Sunday- tight, short, in pristine condition Will play both again

in a promotional piece, the suggestion was that Creswick reminds golfers of Augusta, but they need to close one eye. Apparently. I thought you might have heard the quote.

    Apologies for being cryptic.
