I got leave approved and will book flights within the next couple of days for a Fri lunch to Mon evening, with the flexibility to change it, if I want. Things are falling into place.

Hatchman you've got my name spelt wrong in the list of players - no respect for the defending champ & favourite

I’m keen. Work calendar looks ok from Thursday arvo onwards. Pencil only for Fri-Sun at this stage please. Will confirm in the next day or two. If I can wrangle working from the Adelaide office I might be able to add Thurs arvo & Mon morning too but will also have to get past the family.

Not sure how it works logistically but I'd reckon on New Terry/Wirrina Cove having cheap accommodation rates than Lady Bay!?

Reduce my status to very light pencil.

In my excitement my first spot to check was the Gold Coast Airport website, which had the direct flight to Adelaide listed in the daily departures. Happy days.

Further searching has revealed a very different story. No direct flight at all, and the only good option is from Ballina via Melbourne, which I understand is still a no-go zone for SA.

I'll check again in a couple of weeks, after the Qld election, which might change things, but at this stage it looks grim for me.

Swap that pencil for pen lads. I’m in for Fri to Sun and all the kitcheners I can eat.

Also Hatch, I think you've made another mistake, there seems to be favourite written next to my name..

Ditto, I can be camera man if need be. Have not used to the Nikon in years so might be time to dust it off.
