    Just in:

The SAPOL COVID-19 Coordination group have confirmed with Golf Australia that no organised competitive sport should be taking place under the current directives and that any sport should only be recreational in nature.

It is therefore a recommendation from Golf Australia that all club competitions should be cancelled for the period of the current directive and that play may continue in recreational manner only. Conforming social scorecards may continue to be submitted for handicapping purposes.

So, as long as you deem it 'Social Golf' you can still play!

So you can still submit scores for handicapping and presumably run an informal comp, just don’t call it an organized comp? Clever.

That’ll stop ‘rona in its tracks.
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

The problem is, SA champs always skirts the boundaries of being unorganised, but it is clearly organised...

Not sure if I should be offended or take it as a compliment.
Lucky I've got the hide of a Rhino so I'll take it as a compliment.

I'll start processing the refunds tonight for those that have requested them so far.

As for us local S.A residents Golf is not prohibited at this stage so my own opinion is we should still proceed with the Saturday and Sunday Rounds as the 2020 Champs. I'm more than happy to play all 3 still. If the majority think its best to cancel the whole thing then so be it. Preferably I'd like to have it decided by mid to end of next week if we are proceeding or calling it off as I have to make calls and cancel a few things.

If Royal Adelaide change to a no Visitors policy then I'm happy to concede the whole thing is off.

I'm happy with this Hatch. Agree that if RA falls through we call it off, otherwise I'm happy to go ahead. I'd suggest we don't pay anything to clubs until the day so refunds are available if Covid restrictions go tits up.

We are in pretty much the same situation regarding the Adelaide Rally; I'd be amazed if that gets the go-ahead but waiting to hear officially what is going on!?

So you can likely play in the champs if Adelaide Rally gets canned.. 😊

I'm still keen. I agree if RA won't let us on then postpone, but even in that case I'd still be keen to play MC socially on the Friday.

I've been in contact with Marcel.
At this stage Royal Adelaide is not closed off to Guests/Visitors. They do however need to fill in a Covid Declaration.
Marcel will let me know if that status changes.

Gents, have been following the thread.......not sure why but have many friends in SA and perhaps thought I might sneak in at the last minute.

Sorry to hear things have gone pear shaped, has anyone thought of options? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...son-party.html

I saw that on the news tonight. Genius. Those buys are going places. Shows the absurdity of the regulations. Can only have 30 people at a party, unless you call that same party a wedding, then it’s 150 people. Although if you call it a wedding the costs will also be 5x higher too, not just the attendee cap. Hope they signed a pre-nup.

So listening to an interview of Greg Hunt that Adelaide is actually not defined as a hotspot (yet).
This is the definition all of the Premiers came up with at National Cabinet meeting some months ago.

Still unsure how many people defines a hotspot. This morning I wake and it still is at 20 but update to be released mid morning.

    Latest announcement.

Police commissioner's wife just purchased over $500 worth of alcohol at the Torrens arms and told the boys there that we will be entering a full lockdown for 2-3 weeks soon.

Marshmallow to have press conference at 1pm.

Edit: Press conference on now. Not releasing and numbers but going into draconian lockdowns from tonight for minimum six days. Have to shut both my factories and lose money hand over fist.

I think that’s it guys, I honestly would love to play champs but with a 6 day lockdown now we don’t know if it will be extended etc. plus outdoor sport is banned indefinitely.

Police commissioner quoted an additional 8 days of strict restrictions after the lockdown. Measures to be that ‘similar to Victoria’

Very unlikely the shut down will only be for 6 days.
