    Default Tournament Prep

I have 9 days to take my game from the shitter to something that is almost presentable at a club championship as my club has just announce club champs start next weekend.

I seem to just find a way to make bogey too often. Everything just a bit off.

I have a SkyTrak and a Putt Out mat. I can't really get to the course. How do I cram the next 9 days!

Do that and you are doomed. You need to find your mojo. I usually get into a better frame of mind for a tournament by watching better players, and then when playing the event, act like a golfer.

Get in as much time on the practice mats and range, work on anything technical you want but when you get to the course only think about targets and aim small Words of wisdom from Dr Bob

You need a clear head and confidence. Jamming it full of swing thoughts and practicing like crazy will only pile the pressure on. Stress-free is the way to be.

The leaderboard really doesn’t matter. Carry a half set and a smile and you’re already a winner.

If by winner you mean DFL as I recall from a recent tourney in the far north... I’ll concede that the smile part is most important regardless.
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

    Too late to start cramming.

Free your mind up, and limit any thoughts to ...
On the tee 'Hit the fairway'
On the fairway 'Hit the green'
On the green 'Sink the putt'

Tool: I think the more big of a deal you make out of it the worse you will play

Business as usual and go into the round just like you would prepare any Saturday

Don't do any work in the yard or house. I went into the final round two weeks ago with a seven shot lead. Had to rebuild my back fence so did that on the Thursday and Friday. Completely stuffed my neck and shoulder and couldn't get the ball off the ground. Ended up losing by two shots. So again my suggestion is do nothing. Nothing at all.

Decided not to play the championships. Just played the Saturday round. Last couple of weeks have been focused on just enjoying the game.

Shot 81 which is the 4th best round in score differential in my 20, had putts of 12 feet or less for birdie on each of the last 4 holes, made 1 and left 3 in the heart so could have been really good.

The focus on just enjoying it has been something I needed to be reminded of. Went back to carrying my bag, using a clear-key as a swing thought and trying to just laugh at the **** ups.

    Not perfect, but better!
