Pleasant morning spent golfing, good company and a good course. Took nine holes to wake up, front nine was a bit ordinary to say the least, topped drive, fat/thin shots, couple of hosel hits and just about anything else I can think of!

Didn’t add any details about the round before I started dumping the pics in.
Been using the Jetspeed and Eye 2’s for a few rounds so it was time for a change.
Put the Titleist 712 AP2 irons back in along with the 910D3 and 910F 5wood. This was the combo I was using when playing my best years ago. Was clear early in the round I no longer have the swing good enough for the D3 with RIP Red Eyes Stiff. Was splatting it all over the face and all over the course left and right. Think I hit 2 fairways for the whole day including 1 monster on the 11th when we went through the salty group that we’re having a huge argument on the green over the number of shots one player had while we sat waiting to play our 3rd shots into the Par 5. It looked like it was getting quite animated on the third round of back and forth pointing. Left myself 103m in and screwed the shot from there. 5wood and irons performed well though.
At 1 stage our group was having a completion to who could dome the most drives.

Thanks for the hit guys. Always enjoyable.
The clevos worked great. Ahhh, the wedges did anyway. Irons not so but will persist for a few more rounds.
Might be back to the RSi for champs. Need to make sure I score NAGA.

Thanks for the pics guys - I think SA is green all over at the moment.

My key recollections of Lake Albert are the sand dunes movement (which the pics above capture), the proximity of a short 4 on the back nine to the Princes Highway (National #1 highway), the hub at the top with about three or four greens, and tees, complete with ideal bbq spot, and (the deficiency of) planted tall trees tight on the inside of a dogleg blocking the preferred line of play.

It is an amazing facility for the money and the membership - good ground makes great affordable golf possible.

Can’t believe how quick we tore around the course yesterday.
I think it was around 8:45 - 8:50 when the first group got under way (my group of 3).
No less than the usual amount of time was taken looking for balls and then there was the wait on the 10th while the salty group in front argued over the number of shots someone had with repeated rounds of finger pointing.
Finished the round and walked up to the club house and the time on my phone was 9:44.
    We’ve torn around under 3hs.
Might explain why my feet are still sore in a way and places they’ve never been before after golf. It’s either that I was constantly walking and not getting much cool down between shots and holes or because of that plus carrying the clubs changing the usual pressure points on my feet.

Didn't feel rushed at all, even if we were keeping score I reckon we still would have gone sub 3

Im finding 4.5 hour rounds now to be a complete grind. My home club is generally quite good with slow play but we are now (announced in the newsletter this morning) the busiest club in SA.

Looks like it was practicing a WW2 bombing run - and that it had severe gastro!

This would not happen at Highercombe as I believe the birds fly upside down there as the course is not worth crapping on.

Got heaps of pain in my right foot still today. My left one is fine now. Looks like I've strained something pretty good.
Can't stand or walk on it longer then a few minutes before the pain starts to intensify.

That's not good! No more 'speed' golf for you.

do you have a water bottle in your freezer? Some 'rolling' and 'ice' on the foot could help.
Later, a tennis ball or even a golf ball rolled on the floor by your foot might help the blood flow into the affected area.

Cheers, I'll give that a go.
Had sore feet after rounds before but not like this and not in this spot. They are normally fine the next day too, not this time grrrrr.

When I had Planter Fasciitis the pain was when I tried to move after resting. Once moving after a while it was fine.
Physio did recommend the frozen water bottle thing.
