Default I've got the sky mark blues...

    Lads,

Does anyone know the best way to hide a sky mark on a Titleist driver?
Picked up a brand new TS3 on Saturday - six ways to Sunday it's the sexiest driver I've ever seen. Just so clean and classy.
Second time with it on my home course out practising early this morning in the rain. On the downswing into impact the grip slipped down my hands and now I've got a mid-sized sky mark between the heel and the alignment mark.
My soul was crushed to shit when I saw it. I just stood there in the goddamn rain on the 4th tee at Cabramatta GC cursing at myself and sobbing on the inside.
Anyways, anyone know the best way to conceal some missing paint without making it even more of an eyesore? Thanks heaps. I appreciate your condolences.

Is it a Sky Mark (Dimple Imprint) or chipped paint?

It's chipped paint. Well, not really chipped, more scratched I guess.

The only way you will be completely satisfied is to send it to continental golf in the US for a complete refinish.

Or sell it and buy another one.

    Trust me on this.

Jesus! Bugger. I can see the ad now:
"Three days old, used for 27 holes, hit less than 30 times, well taken care of, practically brand new. Oh, by the way, comes with a goddamn sky mark!".
Don't really want to send it to the US. I'm still waiting for Volume 11 of The Golfer's Journal to turn up from California. It's only about 10 weeks late. Has anyone ordered anything from the US in the last three months and had it turn up yet?

If you take it to a paint shop, they should be able to match it with the right sort of paint. The trick is the application method.

I’ve bought from them in the past. Postage from US was really cheap from memory. Worked pretty well too.

When I had my older driver painted I actually took it to a custom spray paint place that does cars and the like. You'd probably have a bit of luck taking it to someone like that. Very good finish, mine looks unreal.

Have you tried a car cut back polish for starters?

I had a blue amp cell 3w that lasted 5 holes prior to pop up. Had a new one after 18, and sold the skied one a day later.

Even if you bodgy it up, you'll see it and be cooked every time you look down at it.

I have a strip of contact across the top of my driver. No sky marks in the paint but the contact has seen better days.

Wise decision. That bio cell is an investment. Can’t have it’s eventual resale value compromised by needless sky marks.
