But not for the reason you are thinking Fez

I am not a fan of advisers, if you must use one find a guy that charges a fixed fee, rather than a % of your money or he manages your investment with fees built in.

I am a huge fan of The Barefoot Investor, fairly sure he covers your situation in his book (because he covers all situations and needs). I recommend you get it now, I wouldnt listen to anyone else, especially me. Perci if you dont like it, I will refund the $20 back to you (in beer)

Barefoot provides free financial advise now, not sure how to use him if you are not local, he is concentrating on bushfire victims in recent times.
He has some info on his page her or simply just contact him by his website, and he can put you in contact with Not for profit advisers

or My uncle uses the Centrelink financial advisers. He is fairly switched on investor but they helped him understand the various and often complicated issues around tax/super/retirement planning.

Criticism doesn't bother me, as it means I am doing something and people are watching.

Save your coin and just borrow it at the local library.

Sometimes your super company can provide some free financial advice too, or at least point you in the right direction.
