I use one for Kodi (media player)
its rock solid, never missed a beat.

Criticism doesn't bother me, as it means I am doing something and people are watching.

That's what I've been considering MTB, is there a need for a media centre, with Netflix, Stan and Disney+

I have all all those enabled on Kodi (and more). never watched any of them for a second though, so you might be right, who needs a media centre
At least I dont have to pay for them, they are all shared off someone else - my kids and their freinds.

yeah... the most basic one is Kodi, then add in some emulators and you have a multi platform gaming console system or arcade machine.
otherwise, maybe a file and printer server....
