3 wood shaft in driver?????

Anyone actually playing a driver head with 3 wood shaft? I can't keep driver on the course. I play a half inch short 2 iron which I hit well most of the time but obviously shorter off the tee. Desperate for more control.

I have an old Titty 910 head and a 3 wood shaft with the right adapter. There is the weight screw in the rear of the head. How much weight would I need to add to get somewhere near where it should be?

I've played around with my 3 wood shaft in my driver (not on course, only on a launch monitor). Same shaft, 3 wood is about an inch shorter and 10g heavier. Didn't do much for me, lost a little bit of distance but didn't seem to gain any accuracy.

Try it and see. Worked well for me with one club head, but then didn’t for another one.

The simplest way to do what you want is to acquire a Nunchuk Shaft. They are counterbalanced, so no need to add weight.

If you go the 3 wood shaft length option, the 910 is 45" standard length and D2 Swingweight. Each half inch of length variation changes Swingweight by about 3 points. 2 grams = approx. +/- 1 Swingweight. So at 43" you would need to add about 24 grams to the head to get approximately the same Swingweight.

I have a spare 3 wood shaft and was considering putting it on a 2 iron. Would it work out could anyone tell me. How hard is it to safely take an adapter off graphite?

search old posts by Virge666 (the 2nd smartest Ozgolfer ever). he want into detailed descriptions about exactly this.
Including from memory wrapping some lead tape around the butt end of the shaft.

or do what Daves said.
