    Thanks for doing that Wenz.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the Course is now as its been close to 15 years since I've had a game there.
I only got to play 2 times after the new holes from the Adelaide Airport Runway extension were finally in play.
I played here regularly for 5yrs under the old layout and during the stage where the new holes where being developed and there was 6 temporary holes and greens. This was as a member of a Group 4 Club (S.A Public). We had a small club house behind the 18th at the time right alongside Westwood Ho's club house.

Small history lesson. Back in the 80's and 90's there were social Golf Clubs and Group 4 Clubs as an alternative to joining a Club that had a Course they called theirs. The difference between the 2 was Group 4's had official AGU handicaps and played by the rules of Golf in weekly competitions. The Social Golf Clubs did their own thing and made up their own rules. Later down the track these classifications have changed a bit and more of the social clubs were bought in to play under the rules of golf with official handicaps. Group 4's played their rounds at various courses around the state and Paid Green Fees normally at a small reduced rate. Part of the deal S.A Public had with the West Beach Trust was we would play 3 rounds at the Pat and 1 away a month and in return were allowed to have the small transportable club house behind the 18th.

Have never played Westward Ho so looking forward to it. In terms of a public course conditioning and design looks pretty good from the road

Condition is usually pretty good, greens can be patchy tho! The layout/course def improved after P Ormsby took in on. Hope that teeing off at the time you are there are not too many 'casual golfers' ahead of you - can be a LONG round there at times

Would love to hear thoughts on this. I likely only have the morning so if there is potential for the round to drag on I may need to pull out. I know we can't be certain... but educated guesses from experienced Pat players?

@ that time of the morning I think we will be ok, we can put you in the first group (a 3 ball) if you have time constraints

At a guess, 4 -4.5 hrs being the Pat at that time.
Have had 6 hours and played the last 2 holes in the dark but teed off after lunch.

In that case scenario I will be heading to the car park after 9

We're close to the start of the field, I'd be expecting <4hrs based on my recent experience there. We could go earlier - there are 3 slots available from 7:42?

These photos are from last month, I've been told the course is looking very lush.

Should have been clearer; my reply relates to the second sentence. 9 holes in 3 hours = im outta here!

Robe was wet, hilly and dissected into 3 blocks of holes (all a distance apart from each other) plus we had time to take photos of views etc.

At that time of day we will be fine to be done in 3:45hr - 4:15hr. The trouble with snail pace tends to start 10am+ onward from vast past experience.

That is true but someone with loud pants was taking photos every hole nearly and we all took a moment to admire the view off the back of the 9th Tee. Rain stopping and starting all day added to small delays with umbrella up and down all the time.
One of the time wasters there that can't be under estimated is parking you buggy in a spot for lengthy walks to the tee.

I took a nasty fall on the weekend and as a result my ribs are extremely sore.

I might hire a cart and hence it might make sense for me to join DMG in the first group of three

Anybody else want to go halvies in a cart?

Might want to confirm they're allowing 2 people in a cart, North Adelaide still aren't AFAIK.

I didn't even think of this, well pointed out. I might not need it by Monday but see how we go. If I do will go 1player

Golf Australia advice just came through allowing it. That said, courses have to adopt it.
