Default EOI Return to the South East Trip Early Months 2021

Due to much love of the new 6 holes at Robe by the crew that attended the South East Trip in May there was some discussion on a return trip in the warmer months towards the back end of the year.
Some of the discussion centered around playing Robe on the first day and then others from there on. Now aim for warmer months early 2021.

I'll put this up here now to gauge some interest and spit ball some ideas. There will be plenty of time before we have to make some firm decisions on if or when it will happen.

Keep one thing in mind when suggesting a month for this. Xmas Cup is always in December at Kenton Valley and one of OZ S.A's most important games on the calendar.

There's been no discussion on S.A Champs for this year (bit hard to with Covid restrictions and uncertainty) so not sure where that fits in with a return trip to the South East.

Here's a few distances of travel to consider when making suggestions for Drive and Play or Play then Drive on same day.

    Adelaide to Keith - 225km - 2hrs 29min
    Adelaide to Robe - 336km - 3hrs 42min
    Adelaide to Mount Gambier - 435km - 4hrs 43min

    Keith to Robe - 154km - 1hr 37min
    Keith to Mount Gambier - 211km - 2hrs 15min

    Robe to Mount Gambier - 126km - 1hr 23min
    Robe to Port Fairy - 278km - 3hr 4min

    Mount Gambier to Port Fairy - 154km - 1hr 46min

I'll start the ball rolling with 2 suggestions

    Suggestion 1.
    Friday - Robe
    Saturday - Mount Gambier
    Sunday - Keith

    Suggestion 2.
    Saturday - Robe
    Sunday - Robe

Needs to be an overnighter OR 3 day trip for me, plenty of cheap accommodation down that way. I rented a place in Mount Burr for $100 per night; an entire house to myself.

Its a cheap trip that punches well above its weight and expectation hence well worth the time and effort for multiple days

Would move from town to town with accommodation next time so not so much of a rush in the mornings.

I'd go with the three day trip idea with Robe on the Friday mid-morning-ish.

After that, I'm easy but will again try to follow the route accommodation wise.

Don't forget Bordertown... Much better option than Keith imo for the extra 30min

That ones reserved for another trip we’re planning hence why it’s not listed in this thread.

Depending on what else I might have going on, rallying etc, could be up for this.

Re SA Champs, as you mention Hatchy, not made any moves in regards to it happening until it is clearer as to what's going on in the world.

Just bribe the copper at the border with a carton of coopers pale ale. They drink a lot more of it there than here

I wouldn’t mind doing this trip before a return to the the others.
A lot will come down to what’s happening re: Covid restrictions and interstate travel. Hopefully things are back to normal pre Covid.

Ok, I'll change the title to early 2021 now that we are trying to get the Border Bash organised for late this year.
