Fairway finder

Thinking about benching my fairway wood for something to use solely from the tee for a few short par 4s at my local

Looking at either a very deep faced fairway wood 13-15* or a super high lofted driver with heavy stiff or x-stifff shaft

As it’s an experiment, I don’t want to drop a lot of cash on it. What’s out there?

I used a Cobra F9 set to 13.5 all round on the weekend, and was very surprised how far I can hit it, but it frightened the daylites out of me with its little profile. cold topped 3, and 3 more went sideways. I could be tempted to get something else with a deeper face, but seems there isnt much out there. Low profile seems to be the trend.

the F9 is 30mm or 35mm deep face depending on how you measure it. if you know the club you will know what i mean.
A couple other 3W's i have look much deeper, but they are only 36mm. Makes you wonder if a couple mm really makes much difference.

Maybe you could find a Cobra Big Tour in other the F9 or current model, its supposed to be bigger, but they dont say how deep the face is

I have an old SMT Solitaire 3.5 with a Harrison Striper Ti shaft which I'm pretty sure if stiff, if not x. It's 17* though I think, so may be too much loft.

I play with a mate with a 102mph swing that cuts the pants off every driver (and his irons) he has tried until he got his TM Original One with the standard light (red) reg shaft. He hits this 210-220m with a great ball flight, flies
lower ball flight and nice run out...this just works for him.

Not for sale but years ago i bought a 16 degree nike sumo driver for similar reasons.
I still have it and it sort of became my between driver driver... For the last year or so it's become my only driver.
Probably dirt cheap in the usa?

he seriously needs lessons not a new driver. he should be carrying 230m with that SS.
