Default What did you buy with your accrued comp winnings?

Just curious to what people buy. Is it just balls and gloves or are there long term savings for a major purchase.

I recently put a large amount towards a new stand bag (my course gets a good deal on mizuno stuff, generally making it cheaper than other retail stores). Otherwise I use it to pay for a cart when I take my son out (he's too young to walk that far). My course isn't overly competitive on ball prices, so I don't tend to get those there.

Can't speak for the Club I'm currently a member of as I've never featured in the prize list
The previous one I used to be at I put it back over the Bar. No Pro Shop so Club/Members ran the comp.

Titleist SM-8 Wedge. Won A-Grade two times that gave me about $170 in earnings (love the tier 2 pots, much bigger). Wanted to try a wedge with a flat lie angle so I thought I would give the new Vokey a crack

3 weeks on, the bloody thing still has not arrived. In that time I managed to get a hold of a Mizuno T20 wedge overnight from GB. When I ask the pro shop from an ETA I get this passive-aggressive look like almost how dare I

Likewise in terms of never featuring on the prize list, if I ever do rack up some credit and fall into a single figure cap I'll put it towards a rangefinder.

I turn them into cash by discounting them to mates who need something at cents in the dollar. If you pick up others credits at 70c in the dollar you end up paying golfbox prices.

If it didn't make the club money I would do away with comp fees and pro shop credits, its the great double dip, you take 25% for admin/trophies/pennant expenses and then another 40-50% on the pro shop mark up. Gold

Like the ozgolf pro shop, you probably need to find the lowballer down at 50c

Our club has some pretty decent comp winning pay outs ... Just a matter of beating the high cappers on the day, easier said than done.

I've a got a few sheckles in the purse saved up from past wins ... Just gotta try and win/place top 10 in a few more comps and I'll spend it on a new Ping Cart Bag.

So yeah, won't be buying that for some time yet haha.

Used past earnings on new irons/club purchases and has been handy for balls, gloves and the odd hat.

A pie at halfway at every game for cashless convenience and to keep the balance low.

If balance still too high nearing EOFY expiry, then use it on comp fees.

We have to spend all credits by the end of the financial year.

I've picked up a new Clicgear - for $429 - ouch, and my Sun Mountain Cart Bag at full retail of $400ish off proshop credit.

Also regripped a few clubs and bought balls to spend credits at the end of the month.

Got $400 again and need nothing, so maybe time for another putter

I’ve got a decent chunk sitting in the account from club champs this past year. Have got a Sunday bag so far and will probably grab a couple SM8 wedges.

I typically use mine on stuff that can't be found at discounted prices (i.e. my Sun Mountain H2NO stand bag). Although I have also been known to use it on irons, drivers, putters, shirts, shorts, shoes, hats, balls & gloves.

Not too much, just the odd pair of shoes.
All ball winnings I used to give to the juniors programme. Let the kids have new balls.

    Normally beer

Last stash i had as $300 which went into liquidation with the rest of the club. Funny that one week before I was in the proshop thinking I should spend it, but decided to wait a week.

My winnings pretty much always go over the bar. When I want something I usually don’t hard the credit, when I’ve got the credit I’m thirsty and don’t need anything.

I buy balls (as overpriced as they are), sell them and use the cash for eBay or lessons.

Lose some but so be it. Would rather cash to waste than loose new prov1's every second shot

I bought a Bushnell V4 a couple of years back when I had a club champs to remember.

There's a fair bit in the kitty at the moment but no rush to use it yet.
