Hmmm. It was a long way 5th to me. If it wasn't in Victoria, it wouldn't be anywhere near the top 100 in the country.

Barely a thrilling approach all day. Maybe 11.

I am quite happy to separate quality of course from score. It seems you can't.

The first 8 holes are mehish - nothing special, maybe the 2nd.

9 is a good strong hole. 10 is good, 11 is good, 12 is difficult but ok considering the holes that follow. The back 9 is way better than the front (note I had about 10 points or so for the back), but its nowhere near as good a course as Mollymook, Narooma, Federal.

I'm perfectly capable of separating score from course.

A lot also has to do with conditioning. There wasnt a bad lie on that course. Fairways, tees and greens you could eat off, greens ran super true with no bumping, and the amount of sand in those bunkers was PERFECT.

There were no bad holes on that course, 5 or 6 Ho humm, and up to a dozen really good golf holes.

A shot / hole doesn't have to "look spectacular" for it to be a good design. That's for the "ocean view" phuckwits.

Sensible goes a ****ing long way on a golf course.

Is Cranbourne still slated to shut? Shame if it does.

For an ordinary part of suburban Melbourne (imo) its got 3 decent and very different courses close by. Northern and western suburbs are crying out for courses like these.

I believe there is some merge with Huntingdale on the cards that will see it eventually given over to housing.
It is also the venue of the infamous "shaking like a leaf" confrontation that made the news last year.

I had absolutely no trouble with them. They required good technique to play from.

Guess you wanted more like these then....

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.
