Any courses taking the plunge to close as yet?? It would be an absolute disaster if they go down that path...

I doubt courses will close. A total lockdown will kick in before that happens.

Just spoke to a lady at Woolies and she said that the virus is finished in China and we are safe because it's too hot here for the virus.

My local is going to great lengths to stay open - clubhouse/pro shop mostly closed (but still doing take-away food & drinks at this stage), bits of pool noodle in the holes so you can retrieve your ball without touching the flag, no rakes in bunkers, no sand buckets, 1 person to a cart.

My SkyTrak is starting to look like a great investment though.

So do the courses think it is not worth opening, if they can't open inside for food and drink? Seems silly!

Apparently there is conflicting advice being given between Clubs Qld and GA. Clubs Qld saying if license extends to course you have to close.

Ballina: Clubhouse closed, golf course was closed today but will open 'for normal trading' from tomorrow. Comp will be run from the pro shop.

Life should go on, I hope.

This morning City GC said clubhouse closed, course open. Lunchtime said Course closed pending advice. Given most news outlets are saying Indoor venues must close there seems no reason to close courses

Our course is open (Geelong Vic) but clubhouse and proshop closed and no comps being run.

Same for the vast majority of the western Sydney tracks based on what I've seen on Facebook.

Until they amend the regulations they’ll stay closed I reckon

seems that when the regulation was passed the intent was to close 'indoor venues' but when interpreting what was written, teh golf courses has fallen into the scope of being a licensed venue.
Hopefully some common sense will prevail and the govt clarify this.

It'll take time to sort out the kinks I guess. Thought I heard the driving range and putt putt here was closed.
