    My golf club is playing on with the recommendations in place. Bunkers are out of play. Plastic bags over ball washers and bubblers/taps so they can't be used. Pool noodles in hole so ball easily retrieved without touching hole or flag. No sand buckets. Marking your own card etc.
    As long as your playing partners have an IQ over 90 you should be way safer than you are in a supermarket where everyone is touching goods and surfaces. Closing down a golf course tells me there's another agenda because I reckon golf is as low risk as it gets.

    My golf club is doing something different to most clubs with the pool noodles/upside down holes.

    All flags will be removed from the course. Holes will be cut in a front, middle, or back position on all greens on a weekly rotation so that players will know roughly where the holes are. A notice will be placed in the Pro Shop indicating that week’s hole location.
    I personally would rather have the flagsticks and just turn the holes upside down.
    Does anyone else know of clubs doing similar?

    Wenz: TTG have the flags in with a shallow cup insert installed. I haven't seen it yet but seems to working ok

    Perhaps its an omen for you to change clubs....

    You’re right. This whole thing is a set up by property developers to get rid of golf courses.

    Are tennis clubs shut? Even more distance between players contacting there or are they worried about handling balls?

    The tennis club I used to be at was still open, until the university, which they are located at, shut them down. The tennis courts were still open though, I believe.

    Cup holes and the ferrules on the flags are tapered , the ones we use are not capable of flipping upside down and using.... I would just turn cups upside down and leave it at that

    Many clubs have got wind of routine Police inspections.

    to avoid risking a hefty fine, they are closing their doors

    Our club has just suspended all comps until further notice. You can go and play holes but only buy yourself, one person on tee box at any one time.

    Yep. I had a hit of golf this afternoon, and I couldn't even get in the door of the pro shop, due to a close cluster of four guys blocking the door. They looked pretty close at times on the golf course too. No idea.

    WA Golf Club fully closed now incl course and practice facilities. Would assume this would apply to all courses -

    On 23 March 2020, the Minister for Health declared a public health state of emergency and issued a Preventative Restriction of Activities Directions two days later.
    In light of the announcements that encouraged golf to be played, we have been seeking clarification and received confirmation today that these restrictions apply to us and that we must adhere to them. These restrictions are that a person:
    • Must refrain from undertaking or engaging in an affected activity;
    • Must not organise an affected activity;
    • Must not attend an affected activity.
    An affected activity includes a gathering of two or more people who do not ordinarily reside at the same premises for the purpose of participating in a sporting activity together. It is an offence for a person to fail, without reasonable excuse, to comply with these directions, punishable by a fine of up to $20,000 for individuals and $100,000 for bodies corporate.
    With this clarification and considering the potential penalties, we have made the reluctant decision to close access to the golf course and practice facilities from 7:00pm today(Friday 27 March). Whilst we understand that the restrictions allow members to play on their own or in a two-ball if they are with someone who resides at the same address, the difficulties with controlling this, providing equity for all members to participate and maintaining previous measures put in place make this a difficult proposition.
    You're in big trouble though, pal. I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast!

    Your source, W ? I haven't seen this in any media reports.

    I'm expecting it though, as part of Stage 3. I give us one more week.
