Would prefer that over the foam. But I can't wait until we can take the flag out again. Having the foam and the flag in is so intrusive when you're looking at the hole trying to putt.

Sounds like some courses need to make the foam smaller. I havent seen or heard of this before.

Missed a birdie putt on Sunday, it was probably going a bit fast so I obviously can't be sure but I reckon it would have dropped if the flagstick wasn't in the way blocking half the hole.

The foam in my club sits so just the top of the ball would be above the rim of the hole. I haven't had anything hit it and jump out or anything like that, I just don't like seeing it when I'm putting. Same reason I prefer to have the flag out, I like looking at the empty hole, it gives me more confidence, I find when the flag is in, I'm almost trying to putt to the outer parts of the hole so it won't hit it.

Oxley didn't have the noodles in the cups, but still had the flags in.

Better get Gladys B. to close the border, with that type of reckless behaviour the second wave will upon Qld, looks like NSW may be able to edge ahead in the ridiculous pissing competition that Paluszczuk seems determined to continue.

This is a tremendous effort by the person that received the memo about pool noodles for the City of Toronto municipal courses.

    I’m guessing they don’t golf.

They haven't had them at all I don't think. Played there in March or April and no noodles.

She managed to fly to Cairns this week to ‘promote’ all the tourism she’s in the process of destroying.

No golf in Melbourne hotspots. Looks like Northern and Craigieburn. Any others? Feel sad for the people in these suburbs, most of who are doing the right things.

Yep, Northern shut again for four weeks and I'm in one of the suburbs. Absolutely rattled by it.

Wonder how many quickly decided to move somewhere else for a month?
40,000 protesters wore masks and there is not one confirmed transmission.
Security guards employed by the government can't distance and the Premier is talking about locking down the whole state again. Can the citizens fine the government for a breach?

Moving somewhere else for the month has definitely been something I've thought about.

Go out to the country for a little bit to stay with my partner, play some courses out there.

You would think with a lot more information now that when it first came through that there was a better solution than full lockdown. First time round, ok, take full precautions because we didn't know what we were going to get, but let's hope for everyones sake they've got a better plan than to just stop people living their lives second time round.

Lockdown is the solution to cater for the stupid/irresponsible/ignorant ones out there that have contributed to being back in the mess they are now. As with many things the majority will suffer because of a minority.

You mean it's the only solution they've come up with. Now that they have more data from around the world on how this thing works, they must have a more up to date strategy for managing it second time round. Well you'd think so anyway, unless Andrews is working to a CCP script

Not according to the infectious diseases experts. Trace and contain, and doing the three has always been the strategy, before and after Covid. The only alternative was/is elimination i.e. full lockdown NZ style.

Unfortunately for many, they haven't recognised isn't the flu. Its a complex virus - and we as a society are learning more about it every day.

The Sydney Woolworths outbreak is a prime example. A person returned from OS who has tested positive, then finished his quarantine period travelled to Sydney and returned to work. His manager noticed symptoms and sent him for a second test, where he tested positive again.

There are now many cases where people infect others 4 weeks after testing positive, well outside of the generally accepted or acknowledged 14 days.

Then you do have stupidity that ruins things for everyone - guards shagging quarantined travellers, sharing a lighter.

Life won't return to normal for a long time yet. It surprises me how 'normal' it has been here for a while, other than pubs and clubs not open yet

As for the guards transmitting it through shagging patients? Have 5 years free accommodation each. Arseholes.

There was also a good story by Rod Morri about course usage, and golf getting back to just getting out there and playing.

We have had full timesheets for months - but I do miss a schooner at the end of the round.

    This

A few clubs have worked out they make more money when the clubhouse is closed and they just have a full golf course.
