Either way i still can't understand why supermarkets are still open at all for the public. Should be online.
The online services were already experiencing massive delays, in excess of 5 days in some cases. If you switched to 100% digital, you'd be waiting months for deliveries. As MTB said, the logistics would not allow it.

They wouldn't have the vehicles, first and foremost, for delivery. The vehicles have to be refrigerated, and there just aren't that many kicking around that wouldn't already be in use.

    Damn tootin.

Qld learner driver requirements are 100 hours of driving. I don't know what Victoria's is though.

For metro areas they could employ recently retrenched workers to deliver on foot, using cool bags.

That would only cover the smallest portion of the required area. There are legalities that wouldn't be met with cool bags

I can see supermarkets heading in that direction long term.

Goodness me, this thread seems to have turned into my local facebook community page, where half the community wants to bring back public floggings for visiting the beach, and the other half thinks because there is currently no virus in Ballina, we should do whatever we like.

It was puzzling to see reports that about 50 4wd's with Qld number plates apparently had fun on Lennox Head beach (where 4wd is permitted) on Sunday. Obviously, exercising your car is an essential activity, as long as it occurs in another state. I wonder whether they will all isolate when they return to Qld.

I'd like to do a non-essential drive about 20k's away, where petrol is 20 cents a litre cheaper than home, but I'm not courageous enough to do so.

After seeing photos of the markets in Brisbane and of the Gold Coast beaches over the weekend, I have a feeling that a more vigorous and inflexible application of the new rules is imminent, despite the possibility that most people on the beach appeared to be trying to social distance themselves..

Yoss, fill up the car and head for Hutt River Province, I see Prince Leonard is not with us anymore, they might be looking for a new leader.

The Qld CMO and Wally L say it is. Do you have a better source?

My Zip Navigator is telling me it is fast approaching 1,000kms covered in 10 months. That will equate to more than 1250kms walked in 12 months for me.

Apparently Bowls has now been given the OK by the CMO, subject to Social distancing etc. And Tennis is also apparently OK, though I am not sure it was ever not?, but lots of clubs seems to have closed down anyway.

They're also limiting sales of alfoil so you can't make hats

Too right. If I can do it through half a packet of cigarettes or you can do it at all it’s hardly strenuous.

"Strenuous" is not a condition of exercise.

Getting the heart moving more than the people I see getting pushed around the walking track in wheel chairs. That's who we should be going after.

Much better to work up a huff and a puff and then get close to people than play a causal round of golf.

I was going to the British Open, as soon as Singapore Air decide what they are doing with our flights, I’ll most likely let the tickets ride over to next year.

2 weeks in, I’m sure there’ll be a few more examples of fines that make you scratch your head.

To say we’re in a police state is a bit harsh, what’s the alternative, letting everyone decide for themselves? That’s not worked real well so far.
