I'm going to a beer event today, but nothing like the size of GABS.

I was thinking about going to a couple of shows at the Melbourne Comedy Festival but that is canned now.

One in Newcastle cancelled today also.

I'm the same with some Sydney comedy shows.

For those interested, there is a very good podcast interview on youtube. Josh Rogan interviews a leading Infectious Diseases Expert. It goes for over 1.5hrs but I don't think you will be able to stop listening, once you start. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3URhJx0NSw

All my kids netball and basketball has been canned as its organised by the school, but the junior AFL run by a separate club is still on.

That doesn't make any sense to me...

My boy played footy yesterday. In terms of managing the spread of the virus, it was impossible. One of the first things they do when they come off at a break is touch their mouth guard.

As soon as the AFL postpones the start of its season, which I'm hearing will happen, then all of the local leagues will follow.

I don’t imagine exhaling heavily 10cm from each others’ faces does much to stop it either.

My head office has been encouraged to work from home.

I think they are finally pulling us out of the field this week. Meeting shortly.

Bring all the heads of the departments together for a meeting to say that it is not a good idea to bring all the heads of departments together.

Ditto, although I usually drive in for meetings, as meeting room conference phones tend pick up too much the background noise or to use a whiteboard. (Handy for consistent claiming of car expenses also.)

Phoned it in today, except now it is background noises of kids, pets and household appliances.

AFL season shorted to 17 rounds. Still discussing if Round 1 still starts this weekend to empty stadiums.
SANFL has postponed the start of their season to May.

That the AFL and NRL have not abandoned their competitions for the time being, and put out advice cancelling all kids sport for at least 6 weeks, confirms the lack of leadership within both organisations.

Community AFL competitions have not been canned in Queensland yet. They will notify us of their "clear position" soon.

How any sort of contact sport can be allowed to continue when we are requested to perform social distancing shows that sports administrators are not taking this seriously.

I am working on our Business Continuity preparations now - we are planning for around 6000 of our 8000 staff who are not close public facing to be working from home, and potentially isolated from the workplace for at least two weeks and up to 6 for now.

    Fun fun.

The advantage other sports have is private ownership. Billionaire owners understand things like protecting assets and short term pain.

If they are virus free and contained in a secure environment then i don't see a problem with contact sport.

How can you be certain that they’re virus free? And even if there are no fans there are support staff, broadcast staff, referees, ball boys, ground staff....
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!
