At my club the general consensus is (or was, until comps were cancelled last night) that the playing group can agree a putt was in if it obviously bounces out due to the pool noodle.

Sure why not just agree that anything inside 3ft is a gimmie.

    Stableford at Maryborough today.

Thought it might have been a tough day out watching the boys finishing up punching the 18th green when I arrived. Doesn't help they were then covered in really granular fertiliser.

Played pretty steady on the front 9 - parring all the holes except 4 and 8 which I bogied. Driving was decent, but struggled to hit greens. Of the 7 pars I had, I only hit 3 greens. That saw me turn on 18pts. Luckily my short game has been tidy lately.

Back 9 started steady with a 2 putt par after being in the greenside bunker for 2. 11 is a 170m par 3 dead into the wind. Hit a nice 4 hybrid that cannoned into the flagstick, bouncing 4ft away for an easy birdie. From there it was just pars and bogies to finish the back 9 on 19pts.

This should be a played to 5.5ish, but have my played to 5.9 from Glenelg dropping off, so unfortunately wont see any drop in cap.

    18/19 37pts
    1 bird
    11 pars
    6 bog
    6 gir
    29 putts
    0 3jigs

Good to see that there were no noodle problems, though.

    27/03/2020, Gailes GC, Social 9 Holes (1-9).

The driver is dictating my score at the moment, because I just can't hit a fairway with it. Well, that's not quite true. When I reload with it, in case the first ball is gone, I hit it perfectly. And Gailes is not the place to miss fairways, because it means you are in the trees. The positive is that none of those holes turned into double bogeys.

I think I'm hitting my irons really well, but I don't have the distance right; it might be because I keep trying different ball brands.

It was good to get out with my young fellow again though, and it was nice of the club to waive the green fee for him. Fifteen bucks for the two of us to play nine at Gailes is a bargain.

    Stats: 1/7 fairways, 3/9 greens, 15 putts.
    Score: PBbBBBBBB; 43 (+6)
    Zero noodle bounce outs.

Cripes! I just noticed the bogey train that I am on. I hope I snap that early next time around.

    Keep living the dream. 👍

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

    Maryborough stableford today.

Couldnt reproduce my short game touch, but hit more greens today. Unfortunately got noodled on 11 for 1 of 2 3 putts.

Topped my tee shot on 17, which proceeded to hit the ladies tee marker and return to my feet. Hit a cracker with next one, but wussed the par putt to leave it 1 roll short.

Birdied 7 and 16 too, which I havent done yet this year.

    16/20 36
    2 birds
    8 pars
    1 double
    33 putts
    2 3jigs

Monthly OzGolf S.A Crew gathering at Willunga.
1 Birdie, a few pars and 4 lost Balls. Only 1 from a really bad shot, the rest were in spots you would expect to find easy enough in the second cut or on edge of the tree line. Balls were quite difficult to see blended in with dry low rough and dried out gum leaves.
