01/03/2020, Jindalee GC, Social 9 Holes.
I had a social hit with friends and my 12yo today. I managed to score 3 over, but it felt worse than that. Probably because I only hit one green, but was just off several times. It was a good conversion rate though; one green hit, one ka-kaaaaaaaaa. I still don't trust the driver, but the putter is in some nice form.
Stats: 3/6 fairways, 1/9 greens, 12 putts.
Score: BPBPPBBbP; 36 (+3)

26.
I left the driver at home because it’s been misbehaving and despite my elite punch out game I thought I might like to hit some greens in regulation. I hit 5 wood off 14 tees.
12/14 fairways. 0 GIR.

27 yesterday with my head completely in a concentration free zone.
2 and 1 down in the final pennants round-robin round at Sandy Creek. I thought I played really well but my opponent was better. Birdies and eagles (none for me), won the day. I'm not sure whether either of us even got the opportunity to hit a double bogey all day. I know we had a less than a handful of bogey halves the whole match.
Team made the final nonetheless. Hello Penfield!

played my first game with the new grip technique and swing... driving was bombing it down the fairway, but boy the 2nd shots killed me; I could not hit my target with my irons or hybrids... kept blocking my swing going way right (not a Shank but close to it)
putting was mediocre with the cored fluffy greens so not a good indication.

33 points @ Springwood this morning (18/15).
A couple of careless wipes and a few poor approach shots ruined what was otherwise fairly decent golf.

A pleasing 34 points for me today.
I wasn't pleased walking off 18, having missed 3 five footers in the last four holes, but after losing my swing altogether last week, I started with the mindset of being happy with any shots out of the middle of the club. I achieved that, so any good scoring was a bonus.

RQ Back Marker (Claytons Challenge) and had 79/73 (35 points)
Had three doubles on the front with 2 birdies for +6 (42), then turned and had +1 coming home with another birdie and a couple of bogies.
30 putts with a couple of 3jiggles was good.

Bit of a missed opportunity today, 79/70 with 8/14 fairways and 10 GIRs, but bogied all the par 5s, and had 2 3-putt bogies on other holes. Striking the ball really well, let down by a few bad shots and some short game issues.

Monthly stroke game. Had 4 3 putts ... lazy strokes with bumpy cored greens just didn't end well... 87 gross 74nett was still semi respectable.
Still going slightly right for not releasing properly.

Monthly medal at royal nudgee today. Gateway course (10-27)
89/76 (47/42)
4 pars
4 doubles
10 bogies
Am really enjoying the new holes. More strategic par 4’s makes for a nice change. From the highway the bunkers look much higher than they actually play.

MM at Nudgee.
DQed playing the wrong ball.
Actually playing with the wrong ball from the start teeing up a Srixon.
Struggling with how hard it is to play an easy course.

Don’t even remember my score in the Monthly Medal today because the reno’d greens were more akin to the cobbles of France than a putting green.
Got some serious confidence going with the swing at the moment, having next week off too so hopefully the putting surfaces are a little better once I come back.

Absolute shit today 106 off the stick 87 nett, 19 on the first 2 holes lost 2 balls and had an out of bounds on the second hole but stuck it out, 58 , 48 just couldn’t get off the tee . 4 feet high drives with the driver and 4 wood , those that weren’t just crappy tops . Hit the irons ok , chips ok putting was good for a while then care factor kicked in . Worked out on the last 2 holes I was teeing the ball too low
Bring on the season start next week I’m in form lmao

You are a mental rock Bushy!
Not even"I notice you close your driver face prior to takeaway" had any effect with you hitting that cheap ball 80 metres past me.

Had a hit by myself at St Lucia this morning, mainly just for a bit of practice and to try out the new driver on a course rather than a range. Hit 87 (+18 ), 6/14 fairways with the majority of misses only being a couple of metres or so from not aligning myself quite right, so not much recovering from trees. 3 or 4 bad slices towards the end when I got tired, which is a lot less than I had been doing so pretty happy with that. Chipping was improved as well. Greens had been renovated so putting wasn't great but managed ok. They're pretty flat greens there. Hitting straighter off the tee certainly helped improve my score.

Yesterday back marker day at RQ.
Well.. i drove it ok, and fw/hyb worked well. Irons were average, didnt hit many greens, had heaps of up and down chances, and only made 1. Putted awfully as well, more than 4x 3 putts.
Gross 94/nett 84
Bulk trash
Today, monthly medal stroke at Maryborough.
Hit 200 balls at the range this morning, and something clicked. Only missed 2 fairways, hit 9 greens, and made 3 birdies including a chip in 14. Irons were much crisper, and made 4/6 ups felt much better
Gross 77/nett 69
3 birds
1 3jig

Another social hit with friends today. The social aspect is good, but I don't know if I can handle continuously playing this course. While 4 over seems okay, it certainly doesn't feel like I'm hitting it that well. One of my friends insists on hitting off the front tees, which takes the challenge out of several holes, and flatters my scorecard.
The driver is still flakey, I lost my form with the irons before getting it back late, and I didn't roll any decent putts in. Still, I must be doing something right to keep the scoring solid.
Stats: 2/6 fairways, 4/9 greens, 17 putts.
Score: BPBBPBPPP; 37 (+4).
