Default South East Weekender May 22,23,24

After many discussions after games that we should do a South East Weekender we now have our first one planned.

It can be either a 2 day trip or a 3 day trip depending on if you can get the Friday off work.

Dates are for May Friday 22nd, Saturday the 23rd and Sunday 24th.

We are looking to stay in or near to Millicent.
Everyone to arrange their own accommodation.
Get in early and check with TC as he has something arranged with limited spare rooms.

    The Courses and Format
    Day 1_Friday May 22nd
    • Drive to and play Lucindale. Aim for hit off say around 12-12:30. Can finalise this time closer to date.
    • Drive to accommodation in/near Millicent
    Day 2_Saturday May 23rd
    • Play Millicent. If some are making it a 2 day trip we will play in the afternoon otherwise we might go for a morning time. Can also finalise this closer to date.
    Day 3_Sunday May 24th
    • Drive to and play Robe most likely mid to late morning.
    • Head home after game
The List of who's going & how many Days:

Much appreciated TC but I have a job pending Fri night in volcano town so booking in the mount makes most sense to me. Cheers, HP

I had a rep offer to install the iPad for me at Naras, so I’m now good for Friday and Sat evenings.

Hatchy has his family so may prefer to eat privately.

HP was heading to Gambie on work duties so not sure on everyone’s availability

Apologies guys, it has only just dawned on me that this is next weekend - won't be able to make it. Treat this as a test run, and do another next year!?

Not really sure how eating will work as there still won’t be any sit down an eat indoors allowed. Outside at venue is ok if they have sit down facilities but there will be strict rules around it also. Having the family in tow might make this more complicated also.
It’s annoying as going away getting together around meals after the games is a big part of a trip. Just have to be happy we can actually get the games in the current climate I suppose.

re: Millicent, I have left a msg on the answering machine and also submitted an enquiry through the website

I will try Lucindale shortly although I assume it will be a 'turn up and play' scenario on a Friday

You will get a call back from Millicent. I recall them saying weeks ago, we were welcome to join their comp on the Saturday.

    re: Lucindale

Edit: just spoke with David the captain

Green fee is $25 honesty box (bring cash), course opens to the public on Monday so all good to go now

    re: Millicent

Spoke to a very lovely 'Marg' who gave me the inns and outs of everything

    - There is no time sheet, turn up and hit off when it is clear
    - The course is VERY busy at the moment, Marg's suggestion is tee off no later than 9am
    - Green Fee is $30, this INCLUDES the comp, hence we might as well go in it. The comp is given free to visitors so no cheaper without (Sorry Waz)
    - The clubhouse will not be open until after 9 but there will be a comp registration form that you can fill out and enter your GL details etc.
    - Green fees can be paid after the first 9 or when you finish

I must admit im already enjoying the laid back country vibe!

Will ring Beachport Monday; or do we want to Cowboy that one and play it by ear?

Just confirmed we're good to go 9:00am Sunday 24 May at Robe. That will be an hour and a half before their comp starts. The pro-shop will be open and we can pay for the round there. Also confirmed six new holes opened November and are in play.

The Goal posts have changed and I now have to head to the Naracoorte Hotel after our Lucindale round. I believe Waza will also be attending but might not be at the same time as me

Hence if you want to catch up for dinner probably the Nara Hotel is the go - either that or the local pizza shop there serves some good tucker!

    4 more sleeps to go.
    I'm looking forward to it.
Better start thinking of which clubs and how many I will take.

It's a given it's going to be wet. That's fine, it's only water.

I'm just hoping it's not going to be stupid windy and wet.

I think Sunday might be dry so there's that at least to look forward to.

Oh crap, Looks like I might have to change plans on which bag I take now if its going to be wet.
The Cleveland Cart Bag was my preferred option and is like a sponge. I don't want to be lugging the rain cover as well so the JDM Titleist Staff bag it will be. Tomorrow will now be spent in the shed working out how to make it sit on the Click Gear correctly. The Old Smoothy might end up taking it's place if not successful.

If it has to rain hopefully it's only light and not heavy coming in sideways.

Predicting 50% chance 1-5mm on Friday about 14 degrees
Predicting less than 1mm on Saturday and about 14 degrees
Sunday no rain about 16 degrees.

Only think I have one pair of long pants. May need to shop on Thursday Night for Themal singlet and another pair of pants.
Being country, they probably play in jeans anyway.
