    Default Golf in NZ

ok guys i have been given a wild card to play in the all abilities section of the NZ Open being played at The Hills, Jacks Point and Millbrook in the end of Feb and was wondering what the weather is like that time of year. Would also like to hear some feed back from people who have played these courses. I know they are hard to get onto and expensive if you can but would ike to know if they are hilly, tight etc.

I was there in February 2004. It snowed overnight.

    Dress for the cold.

It will be quite chilly that far south. You might want to consider packing a few extra pairs of thermal socks at the very least.

That was pre ScoMo, will be significantly hotter now.

I prefer summer in Queenstown to being here, low 20s during the day, Sydney winter cold overnight, light until 9pm.

Jacks Point is reasonably hilly but open, on the lake out past the airport, really enjoyable course. The other courses are out in Arrowtown, haven't played them.

Haven't played the Hills, but Jacks Point and Millbrook are quite open. Jack's is exceptionally hilly - definitely a cart course.

Millbrook has 3 9's. Arrow 9 is pretty flat, Remarkables 9 is moderately hilly, and Coronet 9 is very hilly. Arrow and Coronet are the pick of the 9's.

If you get a chance, drop into Arrowtown - you will never play anything else like it. Don't waste a day at Queenstown QC though - it's a dump.

Agree on this. Arrowtown is definitely worth a game.

Millbrook is ok, the Hills is better than it used to be but way overpriced. Jack's point is the pick for sure. Weather will be fine, polo and short weather for sure.

Awesome thank heaps for all the help guys. Not sure thermal socks would help though with 2 prosthetic legs. Lol

Really looking forward to this trip, have been watching course videos etc.

Just make sure you have the camera ready, so many photogenic outlooks all over the courses.

You will have a ball Ben. I haven’t played the Hills but as others have said, Jacks Point is superb and as benno said the views are amazing!

What a coincidence to see you back here! HahaMight need some RP7 to go with the thermal socks. Rains a lot down there.

Always been around mate just flat out working on my Disabled golf clinics and upcoming golf day for the disabled. I find the WD40 works a little better than the RP7.
