34 points for me today. But due to circumstances, this was one of the best 34's I've ever recorded.

I have a back muscle strain. I can't backswing more than about chest height. I only played so I could enjoy Xmas drinks after the round, and expected to be picking up after a few holes, but I found that if I swung back slowly and had a Matsuyama pause I could still bunt the ball a reasonable distance. 100 metres in was the real problem, as I couldn't do full swings with short irons, so I had to try and play 100m bump and runs with 6 or 7 iron. i can usually play this type of shot from under a tree, but it's a different challenge to do it deliberately from the middle of the fairway.

Anyway, for the most part it was successful and I hit a couple of great shots. Had I been able to putt well on very slow greens I may actually have broken handicap.

Now that the round is over, on reflection this was great fun in the same way that a 5 club challenge can be.

    Woosaaahh!!!!

Finally. Shot 72 today on the white course at Cairns (+1) to finish at plus 5 in a game of par.

Three birds and four bogies but it was great to be back hitting some flush. Played the odds today -9 sticks in the bag.

First time in months I haven’t lost the match to pay for drinks or the ticket.

    Well done, Bushy.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

    31 points this morning.

Was tracking along well and fell apart on the last 4 holes, scored just 3 points from 15 onwards

I only managed 31, letting my state down. A few too many bad holes.

I know it doesn’t actually count but I backed it up today with another 72 (+1) off the social tees.

    Four bogies
    A birdie
    An eagle on the last

We played as a 6-ball and it was awesome.

Had 2 days of semi decent golf. Hitting the g410 driver well after adding more weights to it (14g to 20g)

Irons are ok but can seem to string 2 9s on the same day.

It was 16 20 for 36 on Sunday
    And 20 15 for 35 yesterday.

    Played off 13 hdcp

We’ve only got Blue (members) and Yellow (social) tees. The white tees are a different course. Aside from the red that is.

Merry Xmas to you too mate.

35 points today in near perfect conditions.

I'd typically be disappointed, but considering how horrendous i was off the tee today, only hit 4 fairways, I'm quite happy

Out in the Riverina today, off 9 at Leeton. The course is irrigated, so the fairways hold up a little bit, but the rough is rock hard and the ball doesn't stop until it hits a tree or some other crap.

Found fairways early and scored well, then struggled off the tee around the middle before coming home strong.

Only 8 fairways, missed a lot of greens by a metre of two, putted well until the end when I left a 30 footer for birdie 1 roll short, a downhill 6 footer for eagle a simple short, and a 20 footer for par on 18 a roll short.

2 birds, 40 points, and a PB for the course of 77.

    Might win a ball 😂

Another tale of 2 9s. Had 21 points off the first 9 and ended the 2nd with 17 points. Playing off 12 today.

Handicap has drop 2 strokes within 2 weeks.

Not sure if it will drop anymore before end of the year.

Highlight of the day was my playing partner had a hole in 1
