Agreed, I was there Friday & Saturday and the atmosphere was electric.

TV coverage is as expected, way too many ads and lots of putting.

Good win by Cam Smith, beating Thomas 2 and 1 , Thomas was one of the form players of the week

I had a blue on Saturday with one of the blokes wearing it. His personal abuse of Patrick was just bullying at its worst. Nothing funny, just crowd surfing bullying

The organizers must have made a motza from the alcohol sold as there were plenty of well oiled spectators when I was there on Friday and Saturday.

The banter at the 1st tee between the Fanatics and the US supporters (We the People) was quite funny considering not many of them were American.

Good to see plenty of useless chat with nothing to do with golf especially seeing as the US barely scraped home in the “unloseable” cup.

Every bit of footage I saw of Els made him look like a retarded uncle battling dementia...but I guess he had a moment of clarity playing Leishman last - probably knew he couldn't be counted on.

The US Team had every player ranked inside the top 25 and we had 2, based on that we did extremely well.

Given the International team hasn't won in 21 years, do you think the event has a future ?

The Ryder Cup was the same until the expanded the selection from GB&I to all of Europe so now it's a contest.

Obviously the PGATOUR want to keep it going as it's a money spinner for them.

My answer is yes, as long as the top US stars support it.

The 'away' games in Asia and Australia get really good crowds, and the matches are generally quite competitive on foreign courses.

The US 'home' games are a bit more problematic if the International team keeps getting thrashed on soft US courses.

It'll die if players in the top 5 decide it doesn't fit into their schedule, or suddenly they all seem to be injured at Presidents Cup time. But at the moment the US players seem to genuinely want to play, so there is a reason to be optimistic.

But wasnt it an entertaining event? It was and that's the reason it has a future.
That and there is half the world still itching to get into some Ryder cup type action.

Day's missus would have let him play, if he was on the USA side.

I agree but the reason the Ryder Cup is so great is that the USA haven't won an away series since 1993 and only one series of the last 5.

The PGATOUR makes a lot of money from it so it will keep going.
