The moment I have been waiting about 3 years for has finally arrived.
The player I most like to dislike, Neil Wagner, finally gets to bowl his four bouncers an over against Australian batsmen on what appears to be a flat but bouncy pitch.
In my opinion, Wagner gets more cheap wickets caught on the boundary than any bowler in the game. He's the new Andre Nel. Bowls at 135 but acts as though he hits 170.
Please smash him out the attack, Aussies.

Unlucky, Jim. You couldn't have predicted that he would get his first wicket with a full ball.
Really odd assessment of a pretty good bowler.
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!
Asks questions and gets good answers. Decent bowler and has got the best bat in the world out twice. If you want to pot a kiwi bowler I'd aim at Satner.
What are the rules surrounding bodyline?
Just field settings, can only have two behind square on leg side.
Does Matthew Wade feel pain? He is going to have a few bruises tomorrow.
My biggest issue with the short-pitched bowling to a leg-side field, particularly from a left-armer like Wagner, is that it is so negative. You are stopping the batsman scoring by bowling at and outside the leg-stump and largely hoping that he makes a mistake. Which, admittedly, Australian batsmen keep on doing. Whether it works as well on the MCG and Sydney will be a different matter.
In fairness, Shane Warne used to do exactly the same thing when he went around the wicket and bowled wide of leg-stump. Hated that tactic then, and hate this one now.
That's a good dominant win. Sensational games from Starc and Labuschagne again with some nice other bit pieces. A big game to win in the general scheme of the series.

Having watched a few of them now I'm not sure I'm a fan of day/night tests because of the artificial advantage during the last hour under lights - seems it is ok if a batsman is in, but disproportionately hard to start as a new batsman. It happened to both teams in this test.
It only feels a couple of steps away from novelty gimmicks like the captain being able to choose 1hr during which bowlers bowl from 2m closer, or having a dance troupe dressed up in KFC gear jumping up and down behind the bowlers arm.
I like it, for the very same reason that Coalesce dislikes it. It changes the game, that's for sure, but I think it does so in a good way.
There are few things less exciting than the last hour of a day where the bat has dominated all day (as we may see in Melbourne), and virtually the only tactical interest is in whether a declaration is possible.
The pink ball under lights adds greatly to the tactical interest I reckon.
The day might come when a team picks a specialist who bats well against the swinging ball, and then gets sent in early, or gets held back in the order. Teams may pick a swing bowler for the same reason (maybe an M Marsh type, god forbid) just to bowl under lights.
I must admit I did feel a bit sorry for Matt Wade in this last game, who got to start his innings under lights both innings.

I wonder if the day will come where all matches are day night , could solve a few issues, they could go to four day tests and play four sessions per day , start Friday finish Monday. Would get better crowds and more results.
Bloody Brisbane Heat. You don't have to try and hit a six every ball.
1 for 1 ball swinging here we go ... 6 for 50 at lunch ?
Good toss for the Kiwis - evidently the team winning the toss have chosen to bowl first in every game at the MCG this season.
Great that they are trying to make the pitch a bit better for bowlers, but simply making it seam around on day 1 before flattening out into a dead track gives one team a huge advantage unless it breaks up later and starts to spin. Will be interesting to see how it progresses.
I think it might be a bit two paced , kiwis stand to get the pitch at its best tho
