    Default WDYSTM - November 2019

I actually posted this in last month's thread, but caught my error before pressing the post button. Because it would be doubly disappointing to post a poor round and then be castigated by people who are obsessed with small details like posting in the correct month. People like myself.

So it is only a single disappointment to report a very ordinary round of 32 points. I hit a number of great drives on firm fairways to spots one or two clubs shorter than normal. But I kept messing up the approaches, and eventually I stopped making miracle par saves.

If I can work out why the drives are going straight, but the approaches are going way right a good round could be just around the corner. Or it could get worse. I hope not.

Net 62 (42 points), in a MM stroke round yesterday. Enough to get the MM, plus got two ntps, the jackpot hole and qualified for the NHGC Grades matchplay rounds!

    Nice work HP.

We are cored at the moment, so out visiting other tracks. 34 points at Belconnen today. Hit 7/8 fairways early for 19 points around the front, then lost my radar as the thunderstorms hit.

NTP on the 5th, and a birdie on the 4th were the highlights.

Belconnen was in good nick considering how dry its been.

    35 points for me today.

Often I would be very pleased with this score, but not today.

I had it on a string early, with 4 fairways, 4 greens, 2 birdies and 2 pars to be 4 up. From 4 up and striping it I really should finish better than 1 down, but I started missing putts and kept missing putts.

Sometimes, if you don't take the opportunity when it presents itself, you might not get another chance. I hope I get another chance.

    Default WDYSTM - November 2019

Saturday Stabelford - 78 for 36 points which on cored greens was a decent showing. Probably left a handful out there thanks to the greens.

had a pretty decent run this weekend... practiced last week with the arm straps to keep my arms in synth with the body seem to help a little. Also keeping my driver tempo slower seem to have kept them on the fairway with only 2 missed fairway out of 10 driver shots.

+6 on a par day playing off 16 handicap. will get 1 stroke taken off next round.

84 on Saturday for a nett 79, ball striking wasn't too bad but the putter was pretty cold with 2 or 3 three putts and a four putt (when Id given up).

Club Champs coming this weekend, looking forward to it.

    31 points for me today.

I'd like to blame the fairways for being too firm, because I couldn't estimate whether landing 50 metres short of greens would be enough to prevent going in the back bunker. I'd like to blame the greens for being too firm and too quick and too bumpy, but two others in the group holed lots of putts and recorded good scores.

Nope. It was just ordinary golf.

I'm not sure I've ever said this before, but I'm actually looking forward to the greens being cored and sanded. Ours are horrible at the moment.

I said this same thing a few weeks ago. They seem to have come up a treat after a good coring.

Warragul stableford today , finally broke my run of 35+ scores of 30-39 points . Shot 74 off the stick , 41 pts 21/20 won the comp by 3 shots . Hit some terrible drives but got away with them , missed several short putts , greens are very slow . I did however have four birdies three of which were four pointers . Chipped in for one, Didn’t think I hit the ball all that well , was some good fortune falling my way today

    RQ single stab.

Out today with Bushy and 2/3 of Ferret. Course was a delight, greens were decent on the road to recovery. Rolled true, albeit a touch inconsistent with pace.

Started on the bogey train, picking up 1 pointers on 10 and 11, then just played steady steady for 16 on the back.

Had a slack wipe on 2, but reeled of solid points for the rest of the back nine to have 33. Happy to pick up another flag and a new low. Aside from the 1st hole, drove the ball well. Still a big mancrush on the F9.

A smoke and mirrors 34 points for me today. Smoke quite literally, due to many bushfires in the area. I didn't hit the ball well at all, but made a number of miracle recoveries and an outrageously lucky birdie. Of course, the luck eventually ran out, and so did the possible good score.

One of my partners was a visitor from Townsville. He was playing off 4, and was clearly a better ball striker than that. But he lost a ball in the tree line with his very first shot on 1, and another one in the tree line on 10. Due to the drought, the trees are shedding leaves, so it very hard to find any ball under the trees and in the leaves. Welcome to Ballina.

Stroke today at Warragul, MM + club champs , rain delay from last week , had 82 /75 played better than score suggests,3 missed short putts on front nine killed my score and a triple on an easy par 4 on the back squashed and thought of a comeback, had to call a penalty on myself for a moving ball . Missed qualifying for the matchplay component of clubbies by two shots , could have got to play a +4 capper off the stick ( that would have been fun )

terrible weekend.... drive and irons were ok most of the time, but the green side short games killed me on absolute fast greens... 3 puttings also didnt help either...

    A weekend to be forgotten..
