Eliud Kipchoge makes history by running sub two-hour marathon
    • Kenyan runs unofficial time of 1hr 59min 40sec in Vienna
    • World record holder was assisted by 41 pacemakers and lasers

I watched a fair bit of it. From the looks of it, he could have done it in less.

I guess it will only be a matter of time now before it is done in a race.

Plus there was a cheese burger dangling on a piece of string behind the pace car.

How good is the Kenyan doping regime though? Nailed it again.

The assistance from Pacemakers are overrated.
I use one, and my best marathon time is 5 hours 9 minutes!

(I couldn't even do a 50 metre jog without a pacemaker, truth be told)

This wasn't normal pace running. They were in a formation that provided as much of a wind tunnel for him as possible, and they were guided by a pacing car with laser projections on the road. The whole pacing team was swapping out every few kilometres.

In my experience, lasers usually slow things down.
Still not playing enough GolfLink | Slightly less terrible stats brought to you by Golfshot - F: 57%, GIR: 23%, UD: 14%, P: 34. Wow, improvement! | Nickent brand ho or tightarse? You be the judge!
