    Question Betting on Golf

I'm gonna whack a $10 bet on Nathan Green to finish in the top 5 at the PGA at the odds of $26.Probably not the smartest bet but he's playing well and he's an Aussie.

Anyway, has anyone ever had a good win from golf at the TAB?

I'm not really a gambling man, but I used to bet on the occasional game of AFL. I don't really watch golf, so it would be silly for me to put money down on it.

Years ago I used to bet $5 on Phil Mickelson in every major, only to see him come 2nd always over $15.... I stopped BEFORE he started winning

As I currently have $3.00 in my Sportstab account after placing my PGA bets, I feel confident in saying it is very hard to win by betting on golf. Tiger is always terrible value. If he wins a major per year you finish square.

I put $5 on Jonathan Kaye at 50's to win a minor event two years ago and he did. Took me the rest of the year, but eventually I lost it all.

I'm a small bettor, punting for the fun of it. It is much more interesting to cheer someone home on the final green to hole their putt to finish top 5 than to simply watch the event without any money riding on it.

Mind you, when Adam Scott hit his drive at the 18th oob at the British, costing me a grand total of $9.00 (a big amount when you have a single figure balance), I didn't enjoy that moment very much.
