    Default Port Stephens - Newcastle

I'm heading up to play the Port Stephens Classic in August and need some advice on where to stay? Preferable on-course, probably somewhere that has good entertainment value after the rounds with decent food?

    Any recommendations?

    Cheers

    Day 1 - Pacific Dunes,
    Day 2 - Horizons, &
    Day 3 - Nelson Bay

I will probably try and squeeze in a round at Newcastle as well!

Your best off staying in Nelson Bay for food and entertainment options, however this is about 30 mins from Pac Dunes and 20 from Horizons.

Might pay to check with organisers to find out where most people are staying.

I would forget entertainment and food, go up and relax.

Stay at Anna Bay..........was OK in 1975 when my grandad had a place there. No swimming, Noahs everywhere.

Flusher, it has been awhile for me at PD. Best to ask minor threat as he is still local.
Used to be seriously tight but generally reasonable condition.

I feel I would play Newcastle twice over a random play at a lesser course imho!
I would have Newcastle in the top 15 to 20 in the country!

I am a member at Newcastle and the course is still pure as always. I believe it has gotten better in the last 5 years or so.

Wednesday is comp day mate, I think it is an open comp, if you are a member somewhere. Not sure if there are any deals, sorry.

Played Pacific Dunes today - what a tough course that is! Super tight with lots of subtle undulations that funnel the ball towards the water hazards. The course was in great nic, I would definitely recommend it at $60 however be prepared to leave a few balls behind in the water hazard.
