If it's one of these:

They are super hard to remove without ruin. Air doesn't work as it bubbles the outer "skin" of the grip.
If you don't have a grip removal tool, I would use a syringe and metho, stab it down through the stitching in the back until you hit the shaft, and squeeze it in. Probably 2 or 3 spots will do it.
